  1. Didn't Radio 1 herald it as a major development to have Eminem returning to the music business. I remember hearing like one song on the playlist, massive interviews, and then... nothing...?!

So much for that return then. See you after the next 'retirement'.

Crack a bottle, we made you, beautiful - all were on playlist.

3 tracks is pretty standard for the amount of singles released from an album.

  2. I think it's a bit weird they've gone from promoting 'BBC Radio 1' to creating new 1tros with just 'Radio 1' in it. But I rather like them so I'm not complaining.

they haven't made new ones. They've just put sung the current ones.

  3. thats the one! Yeah they were getting slightly monotonous every half hour. Lie the new versions of them though, i personally think they will change all the time to the sung ones but maybe not use them as much as they have in the past

I doubt they'll use them full time. In the two examples they've used it for, it's because it fits in well with the song.

  4. The new David Guetta song Sexy Bitch (Chick) was Scotts record of the week a wk or so back and is currently on the B list so it gets a decent amount of play but Pete tong has been playing it as well each week

but they haven't been hammering it into people. The fact it's number one suggests that people are downloading it because they like it and not because radio 1 are telling them to by playing it all the time

  5. VV Brown's previous single, Shark in the water, charted at 34, so obviously people liked it.

not very many people just to get to number 34.

Radio 1 have hardly played the new Guetta tune, and that's at number 1 in iTunes. It's hardly played anywhere, so if people like it - they'll buy it.

Radio 1 obviously didn't play VV Brown because it's crap. And she's gone the right way to make sure nobody ever plays any of her singles again.

  6. Currently on Greg's webcam, there are loads of cameras all over the place in the studio (one pointing at the presnter, one at the co-presenter seat/producer seat and one at the actual producer seat) have they been there a while? Or are we going to be seeing some more of Radio One being broadcast online or on BBC Three again?

Maybe the Moyles return could involve more TV stuff?

  7. You can buy production FX packages all over the place. They're all pretty similar, so why not just buy a production FX package if you're after production FX?

Everything's mixed together and created by Station Sound at Radio 1. They get the dry liners from the v/os and the FX and put them together to what you hear on air.

I doubt you'll be able to find any dry/clean Idents online anywhere as they are all produced in house.

I guess, but I was after the actual files as opposed to recordings of them, I posted here because I know a few Radio 1 employees read/post here now and again.

PM me if you have what I'm after!

They'll not be allowed to send them out - they're all copyrighted to the BBC

It's similar to not being allowed to illegally download music

  8. Well he did that line for my panto when he phoned me after I asked him loads. I text in all the time, and comment his blog, and did the flash flash song and he's replied to one of my emails. So I think Ive done all I can for him to remember me :-p

If thats not enough I dont know how much more I can do without getting a restraining order taken out on me

but do loads of people not do this? Greg has loads of callers/texters and replies to most emails (well he used to)

  9. Aww thats a shame. I got called to do flash flash on new years eve eve. I wonder if Greg will know who I am when he comes to Portsmouth next week :-P

Hey might just recognise your voice! greg's one of the only presenter's that would probably talk to a listener though for a long time.

  10. He keeps running off for a fag doesn't he? Can tell as soon as they play 2 songs in a row that Scott ain't there

how can you tell he's not there just because 2 songs are played?

  11. are they trying to put voice over man out of a job?

    No. They're not.

They use them because people know the voice so when they're advertising their product, people think "aah, that's Greg from R1. Let's buy it"

Most voiceovers are radio presenters anyway. Only exceptional voiceovers can get a salary they can live off by just doing voiceovers.

    Greg also does Keane's album.
