Someone really should point out that RAJARs don't include under 15s, so targeting them will make listenership drop.
Just another thought re: guests... Whilst his podcasts (free downloads, download them for free) are mainly guests, Chris doesn't use guests that often, and when he does, there tends to be a bigger deal about it... it works better with less guests.
-
Wow, they've managed to make LISTEN WATCH CHER even worse. The woman saying radio 1 sounds like a child having a joke. Hardly ideal for news output.
-
I think if you look at it, it's quite a noticeable focus shift... I've just had a look, and at the bottom of my podcasts (free downloads, download them for free), there are 22 in a row without a guest. At the top there are 9 podcasts (free downloads, download them for free), with a guest as the main focus. 11 with a guest on them.

Stooshe again. WHEN WILL THIS SONG DIE. DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE.

Even in 2008 it was far better...if you look at old Chris / and to a larger extent Scott podcasts (free downloads, download them for free) you'll notice that there hardly ever used to be a guest, whereas now, management seem to believe that guests are the only reason for listening to the radio.

The VOs sound like they were produced in a no-tech zone. There's buffering internet and TV interference. Not exactly what I'd choose to listen to.
-
Maybe the new time slot will refocus the show for the better... It will reduce the need to cater to the chavvy school girl with non-stop one direction crap... and hopefully the show will return to the slightly more mature version of the immature humour we love it for.

I wouldn't be so sure... sounds like an old generic statement:
Week 14 Monday 2nd April Radio 1 1-4pm As of today the Scott Mills show will be coming to you at a brand new time! Scott will be joined by show regulars, Beccy and Chris, together they’ll be bringing you plenty of amusement for your post lunchtime enjoyment! The new show will include favourites such as Innuendo Bingo, Dear Scott and Chris's autobiography "24 Years At The Tap End”. Fans of Scott will still be able to catch up on the show and anything they’ve missed with a free download of the best bits, The Scott Mills Daily, available at bbc.co.uk/radio1. Presenter/ Scott Mills, Producer/ Emlyn Dodd -
Search the downloads section of this site. It's not hard.
I think 'Good Riddance' was two fingers up at management, and some of the choices did seem like it was his last show... going to miss him on drive...

I have a feeling that moving Greg to the drivetime show pretty much guarantees he will maintain a high listenership. Most people won't change station because of it, so it will essentially be "Greg James adds 2 million listeners in his new slot" or whatever...
-
This news is not being well received by the listeners:
-
I love Greg James, but he is cut from the same radio cloth as Scott and Chris so it will never liven up the station by promoting him...
-
I think there is about to be some horrendously awkward radio now...
-
It would be hilarious for them to replace Scott's voice on the Sports Relief Vernon Kay trailer with Greg's...
-
Tom Deacon appears to think he still works at Radio 1...
Yay welcome to the <s>@</s>BBCR1 family,my new sisters <s>@</s>jameelajamil <s>@</s>gemcairn <s>#</s>FunTimesAheaderr...
-
Some of these changes seem rather pragmatic rather than constructive for the station, which is worrying...
-
Though I think I'd prefer a Request Show seeing as Reggie's one stopped..
Err... the request show will be Sundays after the chart...
Could this be the reason why Greg has stopped doing handovers with Scott, who seems quite angry about this re:
I love Radio1 / Might move to Australia I love it thereAlso will Beccy and TOTDS move with him? I'm not so sure... and IOBF RFTW and The wonder years will finish...

The BBC is reportedly relaunching Top of the Pops on the internet.
The Radio 1 Official Chart Show will be revamped on February 26 to include online videos, live performances and !?interviews with artists who appear in the Top Ten.
Host Reggie Yates, who campaigned for the return of Top of the Pops alongside Fearne Cotton, will hand a special prize to the act that reaches number one each week and fans can send in questions via Twitter and Facebook.
"This really is being seen as Top of the Pops for the 21st century at the Beeb and we have high hopes it could be very popular with hundreds of thousands of people watching the show on their laptops," a source told The Mirror.
"It mixes old elements of the hit series with live chats with the acts, chart fans should love it."
Controller of BBC Radio 1 Ben Cooper added: "This is the Chart Show for the 21st century. I'm very excited about this innovation.
"Young people will be logging on to listen, watch and take part in the show. I hope that this will be to our young listeners what listening to the chart and waiting to record your favourite pop songs was for another generation."
Insiders have predicted that the show could end up on TV if its online run is successful.
Sounds awful...

Popstars: the rivals... It's fair to say one true voice were the true winners of that show...
-
Clipping them from the podcast will be the easiest method... (Otherwise you will have to record it from the programmes from which they came)
-
Done!
#EXCHAR
-
He must be aware of everything that is going on...

Anyone think it might be fitting together just a bit too easily? Its seems a mighty coincidence otherwise... (especially in the seemingly random choice of Mills for the capital post)
All change at Radio 1 today!

I reckon the "it's 4 o'clock" thing will be dropped today... I think it was a way for Scott to avoid the handover...
