while I agree its added to the way the show was how it was, I still feel disappointed that there wasnt a lot of content outside of 2008 that i can remember of

well I for 1 was looking forward to hearing all the things i'd missed over 2004 - 2007 because I've been listening to him throughout the last year at work in the mornings. looks like i'll have to just download all the podcasts i've missed then

I thought from the trailers it was a celebration of the best of the last 5 years? granted, i've not been listening to absolutely everything this afternoon but this morning i was and I'm dipping in and out while tending to an injured girlfriend and I've only heard stuff from the last year. Were the trailers meaning that 2008 was the best year and it would be highlights of that or did I misinterperate what was said?

Does anybody know when Scott's next show is on? I've had a look at the schedule on R1's website and it seems to be nihal on breakfast next week, or have I misunderstood something on the site?
I was under the impression Scott was covering for Chris for the 3 weeks he was off, yet from what I can see the 4 hardest working men in radio (Nihal, Greg, Chappers and Dave) seem to be the ones that are on most of the time

the only reason I'd have bought peter kay's song was to burn it. I bought the JB version of hallelujah, purely because I think alexandra off of x factor is irritating and her song is very shrieky.
Heres 1 for those who like a challenge (although it may have already been answered)...
Have 2 versions of the same song ever both charted in the top 2 at the same time before? or did we experience a pretty unique event last weekend?

I say "off of" quiet a bit thanks to Mr Mills, I got the strangest looks possible after saying "Ms McMaster off of school." the girlfriend thinks its stupid, I think its quite fun personally

Someone at school was telling me how their friend got dumped just before christmas and I quoted Scott about the present thing but apparently they're still exchanging gifts. I find this rather odd, wouldn't you give it to someone else to save having to buy them a gift?
I'm probably wrong here, but isnt there a possibility that the presents were bought pre-dumping?

January would generally be the best time, but my anniversary is in January lol
I'm sure Viv's other half (assuming there is 1 of course) will be nice and secure knowing she started a thread on the best time to dump somebody

well when I was 17 i got a baby toy from a friend. needless to say i'm no longer friends with her and the toy has long since been binned. I had to try and pretend I was pleased with it as well!

Why is it a shame?
I just think its a shame because he's a brilliant DJ and i listen to him a lot (i get woken up by him in the mornings and hear him at work/driving into work) and obviously the early risers like myself are the only people who generally get to hear him unless he's covering for scott when he's covering for chris/on holiday.
He's a man who clearly loves his job and puts a lot of work in so it would just be nice to think that more people could listen to him instead of missing out

Yet more dedication to the big show there.
I think its a huge shame he's on when he is, he'd be very good on during the daytime. i'll definitly be listening to this, but i think it'll be on the headphones as i'll be having 2 christmases this year and will no doubt have plenty rubbish tv to watch

Poor Russel, all this fuss over nothing and now he's jobless. Hopefully the BBC will see the error of its ways and get them back ASAP

to be honest its like saying having a cold is better than having the flu, its not as bad but its still nowhere near ideal.
Several people I know, including myself, feel like Jo needs to stop latching onto anything that young people like in a desperate bid to delay ageing
Sara, while a LOT better than before the second baby, really needs to stop the irritating silly voice she puts on from time to time as it just makes her sound simple. The silly voice works when vernon does it, i dont think it works at all with sara.
having said that they're still a damn sight better than the verbal diahorrea that comes out the Edinburgh stations and XFM

Chappers and Dave are absolute legends. Ok so the show seems to be the most badly put together thing on R1 but thats what makes it so funny, 3 and in springs instanty to mind
Personally I feel sorry for Dave the most because he's on breakfast every day at the moment but if it wasnt for that I'd have them on every day.Hopefully Grimeshaw will get 2 weekends in, the bosses will realise their mistake and he will be gone from R1 for good. Come back Wes all is forgiven

no I know they're still there but I remember not that long ago it was just Greg on his own, Chappers might have been doing the sport and beccy producing but as far as I recall they didnt really play their usual parts they do when scott's in. However if its the 3 of them then hopefully that'll provide enough banter and shenanegans for a podcast

Looking forward to Greg over the next coupld of weeks. Although Scott is the man, its nice for Greg to be let loose during daylight hours for more than a day at a time. Does anybodsy know if Mark and Beccy will be on with him as well like the other week, or is he gonna be goin it alone like his early breakfast show?
All I can say is I'm eternally grateful that R1 got Max back from 1Xtra and didnt stick nick bloody grimshaw on like they did once before, listening to teh radio at work was sheer hell when that happened
The only downside is no daily podcasts (unless they fancy doin it just for us
) cos they're ideal when theres nothing on the tv -
well nobody made him do it

I'm not saying the above post was directed at me in particular, but I'd like to clarify that I don think the NYD show failed, I was just disappointed that it didnt live up to my expectations
