    Epic rant there Alan. So impressive, I won't even be so pedantic as to correct the numerous spelling/grammatical errors.

    Unqualified as I am; I do Strictly as opposed to X Factor, I am aware of some of what's going on. I agree with Mr D Haxorz. The material is derivative nonsense. "Tonight Mathew, I'm going to be Cher"! If a singer came on with their own material, that might prick up my ears.

    I'm also increasingly frustrated by X Factor contestants littering up the charts, when there is so much more 'talent' out there.

    it's not meant as a rant, i know it comes across as one, but i really don't get it.

    i didn't really watch 'stars in their eyes' but i think it is/was a better show mainly because the people could sing, maybe only one song, but they did it because they liked it, the people on the x-factor just want to become famous, it really is a simple as that, they are forgotten in a year when the next lot come along then two or three years later they are on i'm a celeb.

    there is loads of talent out there (real talent) & they cannot get anywhere due to shit like this.

    why do people watch x-factor ?

    watching a bunch of people who cannot sing, getting picked by a couple of marketing (so called) experts,

    these people are not talented in the slightest in any way shape or form, let alone singing ability, all they ever sing is cover's (badly),

    if you people cared about music you would be out supporting the many talented musicians & singers who write & perform their own (original songs/music),

    this reality crap has already destroyed music in the UK as well as the fabric of the nation with the likes of Big Brother & it's famous for famous sake, sitting about watching a bunch of people sitting about in a house, give me a brake,

    what to you get out of it, surly it's not as entertaining as going & seeing a proper live (original) band/singer, if you like music so much ?

    why do people watch it, i don't, i do not understand why people go crazy for it, Twitter goes into meltdown when it is on & you cannot moan about it otherwise the fanboys & fangirls get upset :rolleyes:

    as soon as x-factor finishes, we have 'i'm a (fucking z-lister nobody desperate to get my feeble career back in the news/papers) celeb get me outa here' why not drop them on a island & have them only eat what they can catch & live for two months like Robinson Crusoe.

    can anyone explain the appeal of it ?

    ps, i know this may seem like one of my random rants, but i genuinely would like to know the reason, what people get out of it.

    FORMER wild child Kelly Osbourne has banked more than £8million after her dramatic weight loss.

    The 26-year-old celeb says she has been swamped with work since she lost three stone.

    Kelly has been snapped up by producers for a prime-time show in the US as well as starring in her first movie

    looks like Kelly is going to be very busy by the looks of it in the future, all these TV shows etc she is doing, bet her ex (who cheated on her [allegedly]) is kicking himself now.

    she has said she feels that she had let fans down because of her weight loss, but that some of it was due to living a clean lifestyle without drugs etc even Jack doesn't drink anymore, people have said that they are only famous because of their parents & the Osbournes TV show, but they chose to be in the show as their other sister said she wanted no part of it, which is fine, nobody would turn down a opportunity though like that, yes they have had doors opened but they have made a go of it & are becoming successful in their own right (Kelly especially) considering the drug problems she had a few years ago she has come a long way & could have very well ended up in the gutter with the likes of Lindsay Lohan.

    I think I may have made this look a bit worse than it is, I asked her opinion because I want to know what it could be that was stopping my love life from ever developing beyond the friends stage. She told me that was just her personal opinion and if I was happy with my style I shouldn't change. On one hand she could have been giving me some general advice for my next potentiol girlfriend, however on the other hand she's not an airhead and I wonder if she realised I was asking because I want her to like me. Trust me I know someone who has a controlling girlfriend when it comes to his appearance and clothes, this is definitly nowhere near that level

    Don't get me wrong, I do try and scrub up when required. When I saw her last I thought I was looking reasonably smart with black jeans and a jumper but I had trainers on with it, but they were clean and completely black so it could have been a lot worse. I just meant casually if I'm doing something with friends or going into a club in town I'll just chuck on the jeans, trainers and hoody/tshirt, because as far as I'm concerned I only wanna have a good time and I'm not out to impress anyone

    it seems you have sort of answered your own question, you don't need to go out dressed like Elton John :giggle:

    you may have seen them programs on tv where these style people say how colors & types of clothes work on some people & not on others, some designs can make people look fat for example, i'm not saying you should get in touch with Gok Wan but you can tell yourself when looking in the mirror if you look good if you know what i mean, i agree it's very difficult when it comes to styles & dress sense, maybe you could ask some friends or even the girl you mentioned, it depends on how much weight you hold in her advice,

    i dunno, if i should go this far, but has she seen you dressed smarter as you mentioned above if not next time you know you are going to see her maybe dress a bit less casual, i know i know this sounds like she is "changing you" but maybe it would be worth it, if you like her & want her to like you,

    if she has seen you looking what you thought was smart, maybe let her know that you have been thinking about her advice (that you appreciate) but are unsure what she means & if she can be a bit more you know specific, i know it seems a bit erm-you know, but you thought enough about it to post about it here (i haven't worded this last bit very well but you get the gist of what i mean).

    as i said before you shouldn't change into somebody you are not for anyone, it's very difficult there is no right or wrong when it comes to finding someone & everyone has the same problems.
