  1. Is there a particular brand to stay clear of?

Yes don't go for a compaq or hp. I have a compaq laptop and have done for a year and have had numerous problems with it since I got it with it overheating, charger never lasts long (i'm on my third charger for it and its only just turned the year old), internet will randomly decide the security key is incorrect for a wireless network and then refuse to save the correct one, meanwhile the boyfriend has just got himself a new dell and his old one is three years old now and still work s(bit slow but that's due to the parts that the laptop has been built with when it was made so long ago. Hope this helps.

  2. Got attacked by a seagull leaving work today. It wouldn't stop coming for me even as I ran to my car and caught the back of my neck a couple of times leaving it red and itchy. I used to be really afraid of birds and was almost over my fear of them until this. Now I'll be back to ducking every time one is near me.

  3. ATTENTION TOWDS and Beccy. If all of the loyal UM peeps, especially the ones in Scotland; who will definitely turn up, do not get tickets (before the night) to Scott Mills the Musical I'll.... Hmm haven't decided yet, but I'll be incredibly annoyed. Stamps foot!

Maybe I'll do my Hulk impression. Might even leave UM and stop listening to the show. Pah!

(Do you think that'll work Kirsty and other folk? Did my best.)

I hope so. I was out at the time the tickets went up so didn't manage to get any and (I think) I'm the closest of the UM regulars so wouldn't even need accommodation for the night if I went. Am rather disappointed as I was looking forward to the chance to get tickets.

  4. And the Moon is also 90% mozzarella.

Ill pass that information on the next time I am at Kennedy Space Centre. The idea that robots were there first to land on the moon is not something I came up with in my head but is in fact information I have learned through visits to Kennedy Space Centre and being lucky enough to talk to people involved with planning the earlier space flights and seeing first hand the technology they had. They talked about the robots that they sent up to gather details about the moon so that when they do get round to sending up astronauts they know what they will encounter. They were also very proud of the fact that the robots sent up could be used to deliver things to the moon or collect things from there.

  5. The Moon landings actually happened, and if in doubt, please use a refractor telescope and you will be able to see quite clearly evidence of mans visit to the moon. the landing site in the "sea of tranquility" --to you the lower left side of the moon--there you can see the base of the lunar module, the american flag (fallen down due to the blast off of the module) and various geological equipment. other sites are just as fascinating with as much evidence left behind for you to look at :)

All of the evidence on the moon that man landed could just have easily have been left by the robots that were sent up before the apollo mission apparently landed.

  6. At the moment Kennedy Space Centre is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Apollo missions and in particular the Apollo 11 mission which landed on the moon.

However recently it was announced by NASA that they have accidentally taped over their high definition footage of that historic moment. The footage they still have is extremely grainy and almost impossible to make out. This has added to my belief that the moon landing was faked.

What I would like to know is what does everyone else think? I do not believe that the Apollo mission made it to the moon but I do believe that NASA has made it into space with the shuttles and the ISS.

  7. There would have been complaints if it hadn't been shown on BBC2 because not everyone has access to the website or to the BBC news channel and so if it hadn't been shown on BBC2 (or BBC1) it would have been seen as unfair to those people. As for a few channels showing it in the UK I channel hopped over here while the service was on TV and 12 out of 23 channels were showing the service in both English and Spanish. The options for those without satellite TV and not wanting to watch the service was the senate, shopping channels or Jerry Springer. Every news channel was showing the service and most other channels had cleared their schedule for it. So I think those in the UK who didn't want to watch it were lucky to have options.

Michael Jackson was the king of pop. I will admit I was never a massive fan of him but I liked his music when I heard it. He changed the way music was portrayed to people and so his death is going to be widely televised. Those who don't want to watch it need to just shut up for a few more days and then the TV stations will probably reduce the coverage of him.

  8. Thought I was getting a small spot on the corner of my mouth yesterday morning...by this morning it had grown a little on the surface and spread to include half my bottom lip under the skin. I now can't even spit out toothpaste properly and am worried that if it gets any bigger I will start struggling with eating. Its a proper fat lip at the moment. :(

  9. The visa you need is ESTA online and you only need to get it three days before you fly. Plus it then lasts for two years meaning some of the people who have applied will possible have applied for one incase they get or will have one from a previous trip to the USA.
