3 August 2017: Chris tested his Summer Mix in actual toilets

Chris had his first proper Ibiza rehearsal

Chris delivered a Radio 1 Summer Mix on the Breakfast Show that morning and was due another on Scott’s programme at 3.45pm. The slots had become useful rehearsals for the Wild Corner set, and Scott was enjoying the idea that Chris might return from Ibiza as an entirely different kind of presenter.

The next logical step was to recreate the acoustics of the venue. Listeners were encouraged to take radios or phones into the toilets at work for the afternoon mix so they could judge it in the environment Chris would actually be playing in.

Messages arrived from people listening beside sinks, cubicles and hand dryers. Scott immediately began talking about a possible “toilet tour” if the Ibiza debut went well.

Made in Chelsea joined Innuendo Bingo

Olivia and Alex from Made in Chelsea faced Chris for Innuendo Bingo. The clips ranged across television and radio, with the pair discovering that a mouthful of water and carefully selected BBC wording could make almost any innocent conversation sound inappropriate.

The game gave Chris a brief break from worrying about his DJ set before his second Summer Mix of the day.

Bangers went to Chris

Bangers ended the week’s competition early. Scott offered Disclosure and AlunaGeorge’s “White Noise”, while Chris chose Far East Movement’s “Like a G6”.

The caller went with Chris, giving him the weekly win and another track that sounded entirely suitable for the inflated DJ persona he had developed before Ibiza.
