Jonas Blue came from Essex, not Scandinavia
Jonas Blue joined Scott and Chris for Innuendo Bingo and finally explained the origin of a name that had repeatedly caused them to assume he was Scandinavian. His real first name was Guy, and the “Jonas” identity came from his enthusiasm for Scandinavian house music when he was reinventing himself around the time of “Fast Car”.
He added “Blue” because Jonas alone did not feel like enough of a stage name. Scott preferred maintaining the illusion that Jonas Blue was simply Jonas Blue.
An anorak offered unusual protection
Jonas arrived prepared for Innuendo Bingo with a substantial raincoat, although skinny jeans still left him vulnerable to the inevitable soaking. The game produced another messy round before he admitted he would play again, next time with more suitable trousers.
Scott remembered a difficult dinner bill with The Saturdays
Bangers prompted Scott to choose The Saturdays and Flo Rida’s “Higher”, which reminded him of once going for a Chinese meal with the group.
The awkward part came when the bill arrived and everyone began calculating exactly what they had eaten and drunk. Scott remembered phone calculators appearing while individual drinks and desserts were accounted for, making The Saturdays his example of enthusiastic bill splitters.
The programme also returned to its new celebrity-gossip game, where Scott and Chris revealed only the final line of stories they could not safely tell in full. That day’s tantalising ending was: “I mean, I’ve been nervous before on TV, but I’ve never done that live on BBC One.”
