Radio 2 stars face off in special edition of The Weakest Link

Some of the biggest names in BBC Radio 2 will be in the spotlight as The Weakest Link returns for a special edition on Saturday night.

Host Romesh Ranganathan will guide eight of the station’s best-loved presenters through the classic quiz format, as they aim to work together and bank up to £50,000 for charity. But in true Weakest Link style, teammates will turn on each other at the end of every round, with one broadcaster voted off until only the champion remains.

Taking part are Scott Mills, Rylan, Zoe Ball, Tony Blackburn, Jo Whiley, Trevor Nelson, Michael Ball and Sally “Traffic” Boazman. Between them they represent decades of broadcasting history — from Tony Blackburn, the very first voice on Radio 1, to Rylan and Scott Mills, two of the station’s most recognisable modern stars.

The Radio 2 special kicks off a brand-new 12-episode run of the hit BBC One quiz show.

The Weakest Link: Radio 2 Special airs on BBC One at 8.45pm on Saturday 4 October.
