BBC Radio 1 is celebrating the launch of its brand-new Radio 1 Anthems station on DAB+ with a very special moment this October – the debut of the Radio 1 Anthems Live Lounge. Grammy-nominated pop icon Robbie Williams will mark the occasion on Friday 10 October, performing an exclusive set as part of the station’s annual Live Lounge Month.
The announcement comes as Radio 1 confirms the full line-up for its iconic Live Lounge Month 2025, which returns this autumn with world-class superstars and breakthrough artists taking to the legendary stage.
The month-long series kicks off on Monday 29 September in Rickie, Melvin and Charlie’s Radio 1 show (10.30am – 1pm) with chart-topping singer Olivia Dean. Each performance will air live at 12pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, featuring stripped-back versions of artists’ biggest hits as well as surprise cover tracks.

Fans can tune in to every performance on Radio 1 and BBC Sounds, and watch on demand via BBC iPlayer and Radio 1’s YouTube channel. Highlights include Lewis Capaldi’s Live Lounge Late on Monday 20 October, featuring three additional songs during Radio 1’s New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
