  1. I ONCE KNEW A COLLIE DOG CALLED MOYLES

Thank you for that Relevant, Concise and thorough input...

LGKersh makes some excellent points here about the audience they're going to get at certain times, liking it or not. You ever tried running a radio station and getting a young audience when they're supposed to be at school/college?

  2. Well he can't do a comedy novelty monster role, Peter Kay already owned that a few years ago in Love And Monsters and it wasn't all that great as an idea for more than 1 episode anyways. Maybe he can do something more sinister like Simon Pegg did back when they first brought the show back?

    Moyles is a Weeping Angel?

BBC reduces star pay by £9.5m

The BBC has reduced its star pay by £9.5m, spending just over £203m in the last financial year on salaries for its presenters and "talent". The BBC's annual report revealed 16 individuals were paid more than £500,000 in the financial year 2011 - 2012, three fewer than the year before.

Director general Mark Thompson earned £622,000 in the last financial year - down from £779,000 in 2010-11.

He earned 15 times more than the median pay of a BBC employee.

The total combined salaries of the BBC's executive directors fell from £5,714,000 in 2010-11 to £2,560,000, largely due to the number of board members being reduced from 13 to seven.

The annual report also looked at the BBC's productions. Spending on the BBC's TV channels decreased by 37.1m in 2011-12, down to £2,334,900.

But radio spending increased by £1.2m to £640.1m.

Drama output across BBC television fell by 156 hours, although there was a significant increase in drama on BBC radio - up 419 hours.

Entertainment programmes increased by 470 hours, while the same genre also went up on radio by 568 hours.

Factual content on TV increased by 307 hours, while music and arts fell by 90 hours.

Televised sports decreased by 389 hours and there were 602 hours less of sports coverage on BBC radio.

Staff numbers were reduced by 342. There were 470 senior managers in the BBC last year, a reduction of 70.

The BBC's financial officer, Zarin Patel, said the BBC had a strong financial foundation.

The corporation has an underlying surplus of £249m, thanks to changes to the staff's pension scheme, which saved £45m, and the one-off sale of BBC Worldwide's magazines business for £95m.

The BBC has a target of 11% in efficiency savings by 2016 as part of its Delivering Quality First strategy.

A survey for the BBC Trust showed that 56% of UK adults agreed that their household received good value from the licence fee.

The annual reported stated that this figure had remained stable for the last four years "but suggests that there is a need to better explain how the money is being spent".

Interesting figures here. I do think that the BBC is good value, but I still hate that half the F1 is among those cut hours of sport (although on that note, a LOT will have been saved by Martin Brundle -probably the biggest saving, David Croft or Nathalie Pinkham and some of the old BBC backroom staff jump ship to Sky, though there are some of the Web Team such as Sarah Holt who went freelance instead), and all of these cuts are made necessary by the Government and BBC Trust's decisions (such as freezes on licence fee, good for the viewer in one way, but not necessarily in others).

Find a few of the other bits a little hard to believe, Factual Content increasing but there's been talk of closing down BBC4? Hoping that doesn't include those 'documentaries' BBC3 pumps out.

In other news, BBC should have more money saved by the now sadly confirmed sale of Television Centre in Shepherd's Bush. http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2012/jul/16/bbc-sells-television-centre

  4. Just hearing on 5Live about the many largely arbitrary and STUPID rules for the Olympics and those attending,

things such as what FLAGS (flags of non-competing countries) you take AND TSHIRTS you wear to venues (nothing with a competitor to a sponsor's logo on it) and you can ONLY eat and drink sponsors product within the Olympic Park (packed lunches reportedly to be checked?), there's protecting the brand and there's 'protecting the brand', I for one think such moves HURT these brands in my eyes and I will be making a point to actively AVOID them now, personally.

Also use of the Rings logo and the words or numbers 2012 is apparently prohibited for shops etc.

Hmm funny, didn't think we were actually IN 1984, close maybe but not THERE. Bloody ridiculous and draconian and for an event that makes all this hassle really NOT worth it.

  5. It is NOT trash. "Turn Up The Radio" is very catchy. And "Gang Bang" has a COMPLETELY new sound.

And "Masterpiece" is as the title suggests.

Of course, I should imagine you have judged and not even listened to a track.

I've listened to the whole album to give it a chance, and just so I CAN have an opinion on it*, and compared to her older stuff, yes it IS trash. and where have I ever said I like NDubz, and other recent chart shit like Carly Ray Doofer? You know so little if you think I like these, and admittedly MDNA is better than that, but that's like being better than nothing.

*so of course you've listened to Ceremonials? One or 2 songs maybe, but not the whole album, this is obvious. Spotify is a wonderful thing and that's where I listened to an album BEFORE deciding whether I like it or not.

If you're gonna put words in my mouth, don't bother talking to me.

  6. Yeah the VERY young are being dragged along and often have no choice (I've seen this happen with quite a few artists). Also she's had to reinvent herself and doesn't even sing live, these points ARE proven and well-known.

You base your whole case on ONE aspect... like I said, END OF.

  7. Well many don't get why people like an old desperate hag vocoding the hell out of everything to be cool and never properly singing live as she needs autotune, but apparently some do... Also you've listened to very little if you think 'every song' is a 'howling cat in the night noise'... You BLATENTLY haven't listened to Spectrum. We've been over this before, it's very boring now as you have NOTHING to back up this 'howling' BS. END.
