Another rubbish shake up. Don't agree with moving Scott, and why is Fearne still on!
Aw come on it's the biggest radio station in the world and after nearly 10 years he's still going to be in the afternoons! Pretty good going I'd say. It's going to be a new challenge for him and hopefully will allow him to branch out into new projects too.First step, afternoons, second step weekends, then night time.

Sara Cox is still in for Fearne this week. Is it not about time for Scot to revisit the Sara Cox and food game?
I was listening to Sara for a bit this morning, the main topic at the time was Cheese and Soup.

It looks like 'BBC Radio' has picked up on that - BBC Radios 3, 4 Extra and 6Music as well as the new mini sites on Radio1 have all the BBC radio logo but with the BBC bit made up from the header logo.

They can't get rid of Sara! I actually miss Edith now, I tend to miss her morning slot so when I do hear her its quite good!
Not particularly bothered about Vernon though.

It seems a bit OTT with all the stuff on it. It also seems to take a while to load (that might be because I've got loads of stuff going on in the background though) or maybe its due to all the pictures.
It seems to lack purpose but maybe thats because its using BBC and UM content at the moment and it will grow into a niche with time.

How do you scale back a 1hour show?
By making it 10-15 minutes as part of another show, maybe grimmys or if Nihal gets to keep it as a feature?

The audience hasn't declined but their hasn't been a signficant increase in attracting new target audiences, such as the BBC had hoped for when they installed Fearne and Greg in their positions.
Wonder why?...

Be careful what you wish for. I have a feeling that Matt will be a co-host with Ferne during mid mornings.
I hope that Ferne moves back to the chart with Reggie and Sara takes over. Hopefully Matt will disappear, as will the 1xtra takeover

Edith to 6Music to cover Lauren laverne's maternity?? Wouldnt be particuarly surprising. Edith would thrive on 6music- Cerys Matthews cant do the maternity cover this time round. Lavernes baby is also expected in Oct so the timing is perfect.....
Nemone usually covers for Lauren on 6Music then a man (can't remember who because I usual turn the radio off at 1).

Has anyone else noticed what the start of Mark Ronsons Bang Bang Bang sounds like? "Feathers I'm Plucking Feathers" On spotify it sounds like fellas.... :S But I'm sure the radio one version has been doctored as I don't notice it as much. Also the PR4L had a gap between Feathers and Plucking lol.
Has anyone else noticed what it sounds like or is it just me?

Justin Bieber's Twitter page has become the target of an internet joke.
A public vote on the Canadian singer's My World Tour page asked users which country he should tour next, with no restrictions on the nations that could be voted on.
This spurred users of imageboard website 4Chan to nominate North Korea, with the vote now turning viral.
There are now almost half a million votes to send Bieber to the secretive communist nation.
The contest, which ends at 1800 on 7 July, saw North Korea move from 24th to 1st place in less than two days, several thousand votes ahead of Israel.
Given the fact that almost all citizens of North Korea are denied internet access and there are restrictive controls over all media, it is unlikely that any of the votes have actually come from within the country.
A spokesman for the North Korean Embassy in London told BBC News that any application for 16-year-old Bieber to tour would be dealt with by its mission to the United Nations, although the matter would be referred to Pyongyang.

And over the weekend, Justin Bieber videos on YouTube were the target for internet hackers, redirecting users to adult websites or triggering pop-up messages saying that the Canadian singer had died in a car crash.
Google temporarily suspended commenting on videos and issued a statement saying: "We took swift action to fix a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability." The vulnerability hole was patched a few hours later.
His Last FM page was also hit, with photos of the singer replaced by pornographic images.
There have also been false rumours circulating that Bieber had died, that he had joined a cult, and that his mother was offered $50,000 to pose topless in Playboy magazine.
"Let's take some time to answer some crazy (rumours)... I'm not dead," Bieber wrote in just one of his Twitter postings.
And last week he posted that "My mum is a moral woman... let's just leave that one for what it is... because that rumour just grossed and weirded me out."

Well, apart from the link they always have to one on 6 Music's programmes on the Radio 2 homepage...
A box at the bottom which blends in with the page, advertising a specific show not a random clashing logo at the top with no explanation. But I was meaning in general not just on the website: you don't get 6 music simulcast or 'Like this visit us over on 1xtra' Or should I say 6music

The 1xtra logo looks pixelated for me. Although why it needs to be there I don't know, I've said it many times before and I'm sure its not the last: "If I Wanted To Listen To 1Xtra, I would listen to 1xtra". How is radio 1's page most accessed by typing the address or coming in from the BBC homepage or radio page? I tend to go in through the BBC homepage, and if you go in from there and the Radio page why is it needed? as you pick from the list of stations anyway. If I was to go to radio 2 you don't tend to get listen to 6music, so why does radio 1 focus so much on 1xtra?
I like the genres pages and the playlist page, although I'm not too sure on the homepage itself.
The navigation bar would look better if it mached the BBC navigation bar, and didn't have those lines on the page you are on.

Just look at BBC One and Two this week. World Cup and Wimbledon at the same times or sometimes even Wimbledon and Wimbledon. Surely that is more excessive?

Why should Coxy be restricted by 'the format' but he gets his own format? As far as I was aware he was covering and not taking over?

I think it would be nice if both Fearne and Gregg were off and we got,
Moyles, Whiley, Bowman, Mills, Lowe. All with original features
not that it would happen. -

I am still boycotting Fearne, but it doesn't appear to have had much effect as she is still there!
