  1. My take on this is there will be minor weekend changes but not a lot else. The main reason being that with the current economic climate there will be huge pressure to make cuts at BBC in general and Radio 1 next year so while the ratings are stable they will keep things as-is for the moment.

  2. I heard on the Wossy podcast that Armstrong and Mller have got some great new old school vampire characters in a twighlight world sketches in their new series. Will be shown this autumn

  3. Ever? Plan B?

Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd

The White Album and Revolver and Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles

Yes I'll go for Dark Side of the Moon too. Went to a fancy party last year in a mansion in the peak district. Was on the lawn at the back of the house and someone must have got fed up with the muzak and put on DSOTM and cranked it up REALLY LOUD.

It was AWESOME I tell ya!

  4. DAB Sucks! Internet Radio is the way to go.

Here in Holland they have abandoned the switch to DAB as old hat. Seems there are better alternatives such as the second version of DAB, dubbed DAB+, as well as DRM+ and the systems used for mobile TV, such as DVB-H, DMB (which is really the same thing as DAB+, just with the ability to handle video as well as audio) and MediaFLO.

The Netherlands wouldn't be the first country to change its mind after originally intending to use the current DAB system:

    • The 5 biggest French radio broadcasters are all vehemently opposed to using DAB because it uses the out-of-date MP2 audio codec, and they've been testing digital radio via DVB-H and DMB for the last few months instead
    • Finland switched off its DAB network lain 2005
    • The Swedish government froze the expansion of DAB and told Swedish Radio to look at alternative digital radio systems
    • Australia was originally going to use the current DAB system but will now use the DAB+ and DRM+ systems instead
    • Canada, like Sweden, was one of the original countries that supported DAB, but there are now Canadian versions of the US-based XM and Sirius subscription-based satellite digital radio systems, and the only proposed terrestrial digital radio system (which is unlikely to launch in any case) won't use the current DAB system

  5. Boffed? I had better check out urban dictionary before I respond:

    1. To have intercourse with a person as if by means of a boff.

    2. To expel intestinal gas through the anus; break wind. Especially relevant when said expulsion is silent and particularly potent.

    3. To hit or get hit extremely hard. To lay out or be layed out Pertains to Lacrosse and American Football as well as Hockey.

Hmm I guess it must be #2 then!

  6. Although he has been remembered for being the Sex Pistols manager he also did some damn fine innovative new music collaborating with hip hp and opera types.

Check out his Madame Butterfly song on you-tube. The guy was a genius!
