The documentary was quite interesting (thanks Aled for that). Nihal seems to be a nice bloke, but, don't know, I prefer Aled. In my opinion Aled has exactly the right voice for a show like the Surgery. Nihal may be good on other slots, but I don't really like him covering for Aled.
To be fair, if I was to have anyone covering the Surgery it would be Nihal, because he hosts a phone-in on the Asian Network and the format is fairly similar.
He's certainly better than getting someone like Tom Deacon to fill in.

That's what I thought, when he did that Who Do You Think You Are, the family on his Dad's side were traced and they were definitely all Moyleses, Holmes was on his mother's side. Mother's maiden name is NOT the same as real name and nothing I can find anywhere suggests he ever called himself Chris Holmes...
The only time he has ever 'called' himself Holmes was during his time at Radio Luxembourg, and he explained that another DJ (Jonathan Miles I think) had a similar name to him and he was banned from using Moyles

if monday Chris said fuck it, from now on the show will be known as the Chris Holmes Show, would it make any difference, no it wouldn't, if you are good at something name, looks etc make no difference whatsoever.
also Chris Moyles is no better than Chris Holmes, its just crap, if your going to do it then do it properly, like Vince Cable, Lord Adonis, Max Power or Biggus Dickus.
why do we all here on UM from now on use the dj's actual proper names ?
I thought that Holmes was his mother's maiden name? I'm sure in his book he mentions that he would never do radio with a false name, and didnt like working at Radio Luxembourg using Holmes as his name.

If you can access Sky Text, go to Page 171 and the results are up there for the 2 Chris'. There was also a bit on Sky News about it at about 10:30 - probably the same coming up in the next few mins.

Nice to see that Rob da Bank also finished the marathon in a respectable time.
In fact, considering all of the troubles he has had in the last week, thats a great time.

Should be a very funny interview - Rhod is very good on his own radio show as well and will no doubt be impressed with all the modern equipment in there, compared to his Radio Wales studio

You raise a good point. I can't see them getting anywhere near 10 million, especially on a digital station
Looking at it, it would appear it is the stations with a potential reach of over 10million.
Surely nowadays with DAB Radio and internet radio, every station has a potential audience of 10 million as anyone in the country could choose to listen.
But what do I know, eh?

I think what surprises most is that Moyles doesn't have a nomination for Breakfast, but The 1Xtra Breakfast Show with Trevor Nelson & Gemma does...
Even more surprising is that they are nominated in the 10 million + category, how do the nominations work?

And I'm sure that the trial was mentioned on the show just after she started, possibly when she slept in the back of the studio and they said she was fitting in well, and they thought she was bonding well, and they could see her lasting beyond the trial.

Maybe they are trying to swap their roles a bit, as Tina is presenting the 12.45 Newsbeat tomorrow - whether that is a co-incidence or not remains to be seen, but seeing as Tina is on a 3 month trial with Moyles, I very much doubt that it would be a permenant swap.

I'm not sure if Chris is going anywhere this month is he?
He's off on holiday straight after Easter for two weeks, so it seems possible it is just for their holiday.

Aled is promoted to show producer (the role he has been doing while Rach has been off-air), and Sam becomes Aled's replacement.
Is Matt Fincham just an on-air Assistant Producer (formerly Broadcast Assistant), or does he work both on air and off air?
