I think Fearne said he's away filming a tv show at the moment.
Maybe Radio 1 wanted one of their top more well known djs (Scott) too do it instead?

They haven't presented a show together in months and then i saw this....
''BBC Radio 1's Chappers and Dave performed their last ever gig together at Harper in November and tickets for the event sold out within days. The gig was so popular that an additional marquee was put up alongside the bar to cater for the guests.''
Maybe this has been mentioned before and i have just missed it but was just wondering if it is true or not and whether it includes having anymore radio shows together.

I think this calendar has clearly done what the Breakfast Team hoped for, to make even more media speculation based apon a joke, which is essentially what all of these stories are with the help of idiots like Gordon Smart!

I think Vernon will go back to the 2 shows a week like he used to do before Sara took over.
Unless Vernon doesn't want to go back to something that hes already done again...

I'm sure that Mills and Reggie won't be swapping next year.
I don't see any of the weekday daytime schedule changing, Moyles loves R1 and wont be going anywhere, nevermind what the sun or the daily fail have to say.
The only maybe could be Jo leaving but probably not for a year or two.
The whole schedule needs to settle again and let djs get used to their new slots...
....and Sean Montague (me) will take over Greggs show (then later the drive time) while some new DJs will fill in other slots!Oh and Good Luck Sean haha....

Couldnt think of any other female sports readers so either Andy May or David Garrido. I don't think Chappers would want it if he was offered it.

Q3 hasnt been particularly good for the CM show over the last couple of years but maybe they can change all that tommorrow...

There just needs to be some more ideas that can stretch over more links. There was too much reliance on Twitter and too much "this is Dev in for Scott Mills all week" inbetween songs. He did have some quirky stuff though so it might just be a day one sort of thing.
Yeah i agree, but a lot of people liked Greg more on Early Breakfast rather than when he covered for Scott as it didnt seem the same, as they can get away with more at the time.
It may well be first day nerves but some new material will go along way. I guess the only reason that he kept saying this is Dev... as a lot of people listening would have said, 'Whos this, Wheres Scott etc....

I think Vernon would leave R1 if he moved to LA, i dont think they would want to pay for it and what would they do for a producer. I just dont think it would work and if it did it would probably just cost too much.
Sara would be the sensible choice, if it came to it. To be honest i could never see Vernon as full time breakfast host on Radio 1 whether he moves or not.
And to be fair this is from the Mirror, which isnt loads better the sun and the daily fail!

He's humorous and a friendly sounding guy - I just don't think he's right as cover for afternoons - I hope he gets more weekend gigs.
I listened to the first bit of the show and it seemed to be going ok, but i think this has all come a bit too quick for him and hes not ready for afternoon cover yet. I'm sure he knows how big this is for him and his career at Radio 1.

I'm really suprised Dev was given drivetime cover so quickly, i'm sure Greg was never given it so quickly which i assume could be due to a lack of other choice for whoever makes the decision of who covers who...? I hope he hasnt been qiven it to quickly because for a lot of people this will be the first time they will have heard Dev and first impressions are important. Some people may well want to try Westwood for a change for example...
After saying that, I do miss Dev from weekend breakfast - i do like his sort of unique easy going style which i thought was ideal for that time of the day/week and i wasnt his biggest fan to start with but he did grow on me alot.
I will be listening tommorrow to see how he gets on. Good Luck Dev!

I was listening earlier and it seems that Greg and the team might be starting to develop a zoo sort of format for the show apart from Producer Neil chipping in occasionally, Freya who works on the show had a full conversation with a caller earlier.
Any thoughts about this? I think its quiet a good idea but i know some people don't want another zoo format like Moyles and Mills.

Its going to be hard as Moyles and Mills are entertainers, they provide a comedy element picking out the days stories and with features. The reason Jo and Edith worked in the schedule is that they both had interests. Jo had Music, Edith had movies and although a few didnt like this we cant deny it didnt work.
What has daytime got now? Greg and Fearne shoudl have been working on themes and Ideas for their noew shoes and the sad fact isnt - they just came out and played a few songs and got excited about their new shows - did they excite us - no!
I like greg, and hope he sorts this out quick! Fearne however is a lost cause!
You all need to give both Greg and Fearne time to settle into their new shows and i think within that time they will start to develop more features and make their shows better.
Jo and Edith is what everyone is used to because they have been on for such a long time, now with the new djs with fresh voices and styles to get used to it may just be a matter of time until opinions start to change for the better for them both.

I think if Garrido does replace Chappers it will be done slowly over time just like Becky started off as 'Becky off of the office'.
Don't get me wrong Chappers has done a great job with Scott over the years but if Scott ever wants to get Breakfast for more than a year basis he needs to change the team before the move so they are on form and used to each other when it happens.
Well...i just hope Garrido is up for some prank calls and won't need the voice changer like Becky to keep it together!
