I had a listen to Matt do his debut news report. My first impression is he's good, and I know he's only got a certain amount time, but he talks way too fast!

Will that effect the quality of the show in any way?
I'll be interested to see what happens. I've been curiously following his updates. It looks like Max is on the way into Radio 1 on stand by.
He's on his way. About 11 miles now from London. Still a long way to go - traffic in London can be bad on Sunday night, especially with it being sales shopping etc.

According to Aled Haydn Jones, he seems to think "that Radio 1 & Radio 2 should be distinctive and have some acts unique to them. Westlife is firmly R2"
This caused an interesting return of comments on his facebook. Someone wisely mentioned Take That are played on Radio 1.
Do you agree with him?

I know this is part of a great way of engagement & being open to the audience. However I don't think I like the idea of Aled tweeting away in playlist meetings.

A bit of helpful competition is good for Moyles. My reason for saying this is he'll try harder in his shows. He has a health team around him.
Not everything the Daily Mail says is true, however the whole Kay & Moyles thing has been banded around before.
What about that bloke called Scott Mills? Surely he's a credible candidate for the Breakfast Show? Oh bugger it, just give it to Greg James .. He'd probably show everyone how its done.

I read some of that thread. I find it really bizarre that aled had to justify himself. He makes a good few points though in his defence.

Eugh Farmville. I hate it, fills my feed. I'm not remotely bothered if one of my friend adopted that black sheep. I couldn't believe it when my brothers friend was round and said "Oh can I go on facebook? My crops are about ready and I need maximum harvest because there's special fruit this weekend" I died a little bit inside that day.
Oh dear. That's a bit sad.
