    Looking at the listings for next week he's doing both his R1 show in the evening and Simon Mayo's lunchtime show at 1. Maybe he just really enjoys doing it! Or maybe its just a much easier job than I thought!

    I spose a lot of the presenters do do two jobs, say a daytime show and then a tv special...Cos Scott is due to do that later this month.

    Im just curious why, is there a real shortage of talented presenters out there, or do they need someone who people recognise and relate to?

    according to every schedule Ive looked at Simon is doing his show all next week (and the week after) as per usual

    Looks like we're going to lose Fearne soon by the sound of things. Could be Dick and Dom next on the chart show.

    that was meant to be a joke actually :|

    Radio one are in serious danger of losing all their female djs at this rate.Cox and Edith are on maternity leave for most of the year,fearne looks like shes off soon, and now Jo Whiley is in big trouble over another phone voting scandal. Looks like maybe Mary Anne Hobbs will have to make a comeback on daytime radio to fill the gap!

    i hope vernon does it - would be gret to hear him on the radio a bit more! Really looking forward to that week now!

    Maybe then chappers and dave will get a six month stint on saturday mornings again!

    Its more likely that Dick and Dom will cover for Vernon on saturdays as well as doing their sunday show. 6 days a week is a bit much for Chappers and Dave to do for several months

    Schedule has changed for this weekend. It originally had Chappers and Dave covering for Nihal on Sunday, but now Nihal is doing weekend breakfast as normal both days and Chappers and Dave are covering Vernon.

    Hasn't been on air since before Christmas has he?

    I knew Vernon would be spending most of january in the Bahamas, now that his wife isn't doing Strictly Come Dancing any more 8)

    kinda ironic they left since they could have taken over from Edith when she gos on maternity leave in the spring,and now theyre stuck on at weekends on Virgin. Some people are just unlucky! :|

    ps Edith is on her todd till april while her boyfriend is on tour in the states and she's stuck in London doing her radio one show- how long will she want that sort of situation to continue i wonder.I would be surprised if she returns to a 5 day a week show after having the baby,and she may not return to radio one at all.

    I have once again caught a virus doing the rounds at the moment. Probably the worst one I've had this winter too (I sound like I'm specialised in them now!)

    Headaches, colds, sweats, chills, sore eyes, chest pains, non-stop sleeping, not had more than a few slices of toast in four days, fainting and a chesty cough.

    Rubbish! Not how I expected to start 2008. I'm guessing I'm thankful that it wasn't the winter vomiting bug. So anyone else want to share their their tales of sick bugs with me?

    I've been ill with a mild case of pneumonia since saturday whcih has meant its been impossible for me to go online.Ive been asleep most of the time on drugs and even now can hardly move or speak,but thank God I'm able to be online again.The doctors say I might even be well enough to do some work by next week,but I can wait...

    Yes its true JK and Joel make their return to national radio tonight at 6 on Virgin radio ,with a special show ahead of starting their new saturday and sunday morning show this weekend.I've missed them I must admit.

    although according to the latest schedule theyre not on tonight after all-will just have to tune in to find out I guess..:|
