Scott Mills has thanked fans, former colleagues and listeners for their support in his first public statement since leaving the BBC.
In a statement released on Wednesday, he said recent reports had led to “rumour and speculation” and confirmed he had previously been investigated over a historic allegation.
Scott said the allegation was made in 2016 and related to a claim dating back nearly 30 years. He said he fully cooperated with the police investigation and that the Crown Prosecution Service decided there was not enough evidence to bring charges.
He added that the investigation was closed seven years ago and said he did not want to comment further.
The final part of his statement was a direct message to those who have supported him.
He said: “I wish to thank from the bottom of my heart all those who have reached out to me with kindness, my former colleagues, and my beloved listeners, who I greatly miss.”Scott Mills has thanked fans, former colleagues and listeners for their support in his first public statement since leaving the BBC.
