6 November 2025: Scott prepares for Traitors final

“If someone tries to make you go to a fireworks display, tell them to rip off because it’s Traitors’ nine o’clock, BBC One.”

“Tell them to rip off because it’s Traitors’ night.”
“I just wanted bigger post-its.”

“You’ve got to go, you’re class rep—but it’s the Traitors final!”

Thursday Morning with Scott 🌅

Scott greeted “Thursday fans” with his usual sparkle, recapping the week’s highlights — Keira Knightley forgetting her own films, Matt Lucas on Creme Eggs, and Mary Berry proudly buying puff pastry. As he said, “Who would make puff pastry? Mary’s buying it from a shop, and so should you.”

With Traitors: The Final set for that night, Scott made it clear: “If someone tries to make you go to a fireworks display, tell them to rip off because it’s Traitors’ nine o’clock, BBC One.” Cue the excitement for his 8:30 guest — Cat Burns — straight from the castle itself.

Fireworks, Post-its and Parent Drinks 🎆📝🍷

The chat between Scott, Tina and Ellie was pure Radio 2 gold. Tina admitted she might skip her daughter’s “parent drinks” to catch The Traitors. Scott offered a perfect solution: “Do a French exit. Gloria Gaynor principle. Never can say goodbye.”

Listeners joined in with tales of cancellations, excuses and TV obsession. One listener, Jenny, confessed: “I said my five-year-old’s not well.” To which Scott gasped, “You blamed your child!” — only for Jenny to reply, “No, she helped me.”

Later, Scott unveiled his massive post-it notes (“It’s quite aggressive!”), prompting texts from stationery lovers nationwide. “The bigger, the better,” wrote Kate in North Yorkshire, while Scott imagined wearing one on his head at Christmas.

“You Are Traitors – It’s Excellent!” 🕵️‍♀️

The morning’s drama peaked when a listener named Becky admitted she’d planned to secretly watch The Traitors without her husband. Minutes later, he called in. “Hi, it’s Becky’s husband, John,” he said. “I’ve heard this deceit in plain sight.” Scott couldn’t believe it: “The stakes are quite high. It’s only a TV show, John!”

John vowed to play along, pretending not to know. Scott replied: “We’ll see you at the round table tomorrow night.”

Cat Burns Joins the Faithful 🎤

At last, the morning’s guest arrived: “You know her as a stone-cold traitor, but she’s actually a softie,” Scott said, welcoming Cat Burns from The Traitors and her new album How To Be Human.

Cat revealed she’d napped before performing on Strictly, admitted she “sleeps any chance she gets,” and laughed about fans asking for vinyl signed with phrases like “Someone’s been recruited.”

She shared how her grandfather’s voice opens the album: “Love your life always.” Scott called it “such a sweet moment.” Cat smiled, adding, “There’s beauty in pop songs that talk about real things — heartbreak and grief.”

When asked about lying on The Traitors, Cat laughed: “My mum says she can always tell when I’m lying!” Tina asked what contestants chatted about off-camera: “Literally everything,” Cat replied. “You’re in there all day.”

Her track There’s Just Something About Her played to glowing listener messages — “Best song of the moment,” wrote Nicolette in Stamford.

Sara Cox Checks In 🎽

Scott caught up with Sara Cox, days away from her Great Northern Marathon Challenge for Children in Need. She admitted: “I had terrible anxiety dreams — I arrived and forgot all my trainers.” Ever-supportive, Scott quipped, “You should’ve had a week in Fuerteventura instead.”

They teased Trevor Nelson’s “stretching expert” status, with Sarah joking: “What does he know about the bosses?!”

The Handover with Vernon Kay 🎤

Scott wrapped up just after playing Hall & Oates’ Maneater, passing the mic to Vernon Kay. They laughed about Trevor Nelson’s mysterious exemption from all Children in Need challenges. “It’s like he knows something!” Scott said.

Vernon promised fun with Ten to the Top and praised Scott’s upcoming One Show appearance with Isla Fisher: “Strong lineup!”

Scott signed off teasing tomorrow’s Big Guest Friday: “Sam Ryder, Stephen Mangan, and my lover from Bristol, Jayde Adams.”
