Georgina Bowman
The former female anchor for Radio 1's Newsbeat
Georgina Bowman was born on February 9th 1972 and was originally off of London but moved to Manchester when she was ten.
George joined Radio 1 in 1998 after working for many commercial stations in the North West. Until February 2008 she was the main Newsbeat anchor in the afternoons and was the regular presenter for Newsbeat during The Scott Mills Show.
During her time with The Scott Mills Show she became known for giving away spoilers to popular television shows including the series finale of Lost in June 2007. She also famously became confused about whether Wendy Richards was still alive long before her terminal illness. Scott and Chappers also frequently attempted to sabotage the 6.30 Entertainment News by reading out her script before she had done it.
In January 2008, Georgina announced she was pregnant. She left Radio 1 at the start of February 2008 and gave birth to Louis Spencer Arnold on February 15th 2008. He weighed 7lb 13oz. She returned to work in February 2009 as a Senior Reporter based in the north.
