Like all time vaults, this is to be moved from public view till January 1st 2015.

So if this works, in around two weeks when everyone have written their messages, the thread goes into hiding till the time is right. If you could do that Jono, thanks.

For now leave messages for the people of Unofficial Mills in 2015.

Things to put in your message.

Say hello to future people,

What things are like now in the world,

How you are feeling and things you are doing currently,

Anything you want :)

This picture may have gone by 2015 but this is UM's homepage when this thread was created.

Hi future world

Probably dead by the time you read this, most likely after being hit by a rogue meteorite

I was the god of defeatism in 2010, and as such will leave you all this message: You will all die without money, and alone. Or I did, at least.

but Smile, because at least you can read. Unless you are illiterate. then lifes even crapper for you.

Life sucks, end of. it did in 2010 at least.

Hello 2015!

First of all I hope you can read this with the 2012 phenomenon been wrongly predicted as the end of the world (not that I really understand it). Perhaps by 2015 there will be a new end of the world theory our last failure was the Large Hadron Colder Blackhole - although that could still happen as the machine broke down.

I am currently studying geography at Liverpool.

My phone is currently a Nokia 6700.

I have an Xbox 360 although I refuse to pay for Xbox live xD

The current day time R1 Schedule is...

0400 Dev, 0630 Chris Moyles, 1000 Fearne Cotton[We can only assume why?], 1300 Greg James, 1600 Scott Mills, 1900 Zane Lowe.

Sara Cox is pregnant with Baby #3. We think Jo Whiley will be going to R2. Scott only has Beccy(Assistant Producer?) and TOTDS on his show(Producer Emlyn)

I have made 880 posts on UM.

Hello, Unofficial Mills. Stumbled upon this after seeing a UM article on Facebook. It's been a while. This was really nice to look at.

I've not been listening to Radio 1 for a while as I don't own a car and my house in Notts receives only Smooth.

I've been through two phones and am on another laptop, though still have both my iPods (but use them rarely!). I'm now pushing 40k tweets (@samozzy), am at my second year at the university of Nottingham. I also work as a theatre technician from time to time.

I do a lot less websites, a lot more theatre, and my 1TB hard drive is about a quarter of the size of my 500GB one - and doesn't even require a mains connection! Queen is still alive, no hovercars and my internet speed is now 50, rather than 10!

Maybe I'll post a bit more frequently soon...

    • There was a time when everyone knew Zane Lowe or Annie Mac or Judge Jules or Dave Pearce or Annie Nightingale. Does the Radio 1 generation know the current bunch?
    • Looks like it's off to Preston!
    • Would be nice to give more presence to the specialist shows over bank holidays. Surely the best way to promote new music credentials over anthems? As much as I accept it's very popular.
    • Peak radio 1 ! I agree with Bluestraw there was huge presence by specialist presenters then , certainly something I think radio1 could do more of now. Remember the takeover where specialist DJs would swap into main shows for a week? Or do we recall In New DJs We Trust, the competition on Chris moyles show where the winner would get a DJ set at radio 1s Ibiza weekend, and that is how Danny Howard’s radio career starters
    • Yeah. He started on R1 in the late 90's when they used do the 'Sessions in the Nations' where they used to split for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. He then moved to daytimes, firstly on weekends in 2003 then they replaced Mark & Lard on the mid afternoon slot in 2004.  Then he moved to late evenings as a specialist DJ.
    • Thanks for sharing that - I don't think I've seen it before. Didn't realise that Colin Murray off of Countdown and R5L used to be on R1! Several other current R2/R5L/R6M names there too.
    • 29th April has updated to show Dan back as presenter but still Nels in for Alyx on Introducing Rock.
    • Where do we think Radio 2 in the Park will be this year? Personally I'm thinking Swindon after Scott's clue of it having many roundabouts and since Big Weekend is at Luton I can't imagine they'd go to Milton Keynes.
    • Yeah, I feel like they need a big push on Jack to cement him in his new position. But it shouldn't just be Jack, you've got Sian and Alyx for instance, who are relatively new faces.
    • Now in it's third week, the new Capital Breakfast Show seems to be settling down well and there are more of the informal, random Jordan topics appearing.  Though it is clear he wants to be seen slightly differently. It really is a very decent listen.
    • Just watched that advert and it made me realise quite how many 'big' specialist presenters there were back then
    • I've been reminded of this Radio 1 cinema advert. I remember being so excited to see it. The In New Music We Trust era. Everything felt so cool, even if they had Westwood.
    • Just Vick and Katie on Wednesday (and presumably Thursday as well).
    • Unless people can provide a source for this information then it should be treated as false.   Why would Jordan sign a contract with the BBC in the autumn when he agreed a deal with Global?  He could have left in August and not had to deal with the BBC.  Vick who doesn't really like Global why would she recommend him to go there and then warn him in her post to be careful?   It's been whispered from October that Roman was thinking of going.  Roman and Jordan have the same management team.  Why would they put Jordan in a place where he would have to battle with the BBC.  They could have agreed a deal with Global for Jordan in the summer.  They might have had to pay first couple months but they would do they to secure him.  If they had known about Roman wanting to leave they could have paid Roman off to get Jordan on air quicker.  Global would also not had legal around BBC contract to deal with and would not have had to pay the BBC to release Jordan.  None of what people say makes sense and if it did happen the way people say then BBC are not the stupid ones.  It really is not a good look to be talking with Global for 6 months, to then sign a contract with a the BBC, continue to talk to Global behind BBC's back after signing and then couple of months later want to leave and to throw a hissy fit as the BBC are not giving you what you want when you want it. That not a good light for Jordan or his management.
    • Wow, surprised he signed a new contract in September but it says a lot about Jordan that he continued to a very high standard throughout last summer/autumn if this was all going on in the background.
