It has'nt even been announced yet, was'nt mentioned on the show today and Becky has'nt referred to it on twitter again. I really can't see they can just give Chappers a 4 day send off, it just would'nt be right. Also I know Chappers does his show on ESPN on a Sunday night and has this new quiz show starting on ESPN and some occassional work on 5 Live but would that be enough to consider packing a steady Mon-Fri job in at Radio 1?

I hope Scott and Beccy don't leave Radio 1

I interviewd Scott 2 weeks ago and he told me that he thinks he could still do another few years at Radio 1. So I have a feeling that Scott wont be leaving Radio 1 anytime soon. After all he hasn't done anything to annoy Andy Parfit and the team so don't see them getting rid of him, remember Andy Parfit has been with R1 through all of Scott's R1 carreer. 8)8););)

I agree. You'd have thought Chappers would deserve a bit of a build up, but saying that he strikes me as the type who wouldn't want a fuss to be made.

It's not very often at Radio 1 you get a send-off anyway. For example, Colin Murray. I don't think he'd want a fuss - they never celebrate his birthday.

So i missed/ am missing this evenings show, but im guessing his departure has been officially announced. Its a shame i wont get a chance to listen to the guys doing mornings, so for me apart from the podcasts its the end of chappers :(. He's gonna be hard to replace.

Sorry if for any spelling mistakes, I'm dyspraxic.

I think people need to calm a little. If someone leaves your work place to explore bigger and better things, do you berate them for it? No, you wish them luck

Has anyone berated Chappers. I think it's been pretty universal love coming in for Chappers. We're mounring the loss of him obviously, we'll miss him, but not berating him.

doesnt the breakfast show have a bigger audience?

Yes but they aren't Scott's (Chappers') audience, so why should the news be broken to them?

If your comment was directed at me John, I wasn't berating him. I just feel that the team don't think anyone will be bothered that he's leaving when in fact we are. The audience deserve to know in order for his time on the show to be appreciated.

    • At a time when Radio 1 has surely lost listeners to Capital at Breaktast you’d be trying to protect the station so people switch back.  Certainly yesterday I didn’t switch back to Radio 1 at all.
    • Was abysmal…Surely Danny can’t be a contender for anything permanent when the new schedules are locked in I.e Matt and Mollies slot
    • Alexandra Burke creating the phrase 'Elephant In The Room' whooooooooo
    • Zane Versus.... Whooooooooo. Do You Do Fridays? WhooOOOooo.
    • The Capital Breakfast show is right up my street so far - such a fun listen. You've both been great on Radio 1 and are sounding excellent again on Capital A few quickfire questions: You've both been part of some great pairings on radio and on podcast - what goes into making a duo or trio work and sound great on air? Also, Chris - were there ever any discussions about you moving over to Radio 2 with Scott or had the Global offer already come first? Also how do you both go about managing that split between your radio 'you' and the private 'you'? You share a lot on air but also there's some understandably some stuff you keep private (famously Jordan doesn't 'talk about those things'). And how do you make sure if you're having a miserable day or are a bit low that it doesn't come across too much on air?
    • What a nightmare link at 11.15am this morning. Spent 30 seconds waffling about the name of The Last Dinner Party as if he’d never heard it before, then started mentioning Capital and the license fee, and how it’s been used to pay for him to be there, and was then cut off by the start of the next song.
    • Have been reading this all week. She's such a brave woman. Just got to the chapter where she explains why she missed Scott's leaving event at Radio 1. She talks about leaving Radio 1 because her mum's health got worse, and wanting to quietly leave radio at 44 just how she first arrived on the airwaves at 18. Worth a read!
    • Frozen Indigo Angel... Whoooooooo?!!
    • Did it take a lot of tempting to go to Capital Jordan? Did you feel like you’d achieved everything you could at Radio 1 (other than breakfast)? Chris, how did your Capital move come about? Did Radio 1 want you to stay after Scott moved on?

    • I never expected to be enjoying a commercial radio Breakfast Show, but this is a good listen and less adverts than I might have expected.
    • It's got more of a Fri/ Sat feeling to it, for me. But there's nothing inherently wrong with the show.
    • Think it's a lot more fun when they don't have guests and have to find ideas to fill a show.  Them doing some calming traffic reports around the most stressful part of the day. I wonder if there's more they could do with that - 8.15am being the most stressful time. Anyway, I think that of most radio shows, I'd rather hear the creativity than an overhyped celebrity. Greg had it right yesterday with Tom Allen, he wasn't really just there to promote The Apprentice, but to do comedy too.
    • Got to admit I only heard a bit of it tonight whilst driving but I loved it! Will definitely be listening back to this one and in future. Just what Thursday nights needed! 💗
    • Right, despite what Jordan may say now, I think he (and probably Chris) would rather be doing R1 breakfast but seems he was told that wasn't at all imminent so made the understandable move to go elsewhere. Doubt Greg will move off breakfast anytime soon as he's got a new contract and anyway no obvious replacement in line... They certainly have thrown some energy behind competing these last couple of weeks though.
