I cannot watch it at all for some reason. The screen with the R1 Logo, and the texts on the side all loads up, and when a song is played the name comes up but I am getting only a blank screen for the studio

Are the BBC restricting this to the UK only unlike the previous times?

Pretty sure it was UK only last time but it seems odd you get half of the console.

I'm getting the same problem :( It's strange because I was able to watch it when they did the last trial in Janurary.

I don't personally think it's proving that popular from what I've seen of comments so far. I know it seems a bit negative here but I get the feeling it's echoed elsewhere too. I think it would be cool for outside broadcasts like what Mayo has done but I struggle to become that amazed by it after the first few trials.

The funniest part was Chris aiming for 10000 views by the pop quiz but when he checked after Cheggers they had lost 3000 OOPS

PArt of the problem is that it's kept as some separate, visual thing. I understand that people listen to it at work and so can't always load up the video - but if the idea is to get what this would be full time, the visual radio console should be trialed also in a more 'real world' way, across the whole schedule.

That's not to say every show should be directed, and all hooked up with cameras. Some stuff is pre-rec'd, and that's too much work for a trial - however, the key thing to convince people is that this isn't just radio with video: if this is visualisation, pull more data from the /music/ site, maybe occasionally show the "top words being texted" panel, allow the now playing module to be on the right, perhaps show DAB livetext at the bottom, and maybe for studios not hooked up fully for 5 camera actual - use the single camera or maybe just have static images refreshing a bit more often. Have an image/link for trails when they're played, or at least just let you listen to Radio 1 through one console, and when Moyles/Zane start, then the video modules load up. Heck, the top stories can be pulled from BBC News, why not Newsbeat? Just a range of ideas there.

I understand that it maybe not be right for this specific trial, but I get the feeling that if Moyles can't hit 10,000 in week 1, by week 6 the Beeb bosses will decide to scrap plans to go further with this. If more can be done with visualisation, do it. In terms of it affecting the shows, we'll see Moyles get bored by week 6, and with Zane Lowe... he hardly mentioned it, something for the best, though as I said before the directing last night didn't really work with Zane's show.

If visualisation is the future, the current trial, (which I don't want to take anything away from, it's good) is maybe just step one, and to convince people it needs to be a bit more regular in its use and go a bit beyond studio cam.

I think Sara Cox should do one. Something clearly exciting happens on a Sunday that we don't get to see on the normal webcams ;)

Are Moyles going to be on an outside broadcast for the Take That show? I think that would work - especially if maybe they had them on as guests and played out the songs too like they said they would. Perhaps they could film bits on their mobile and play out on-air with the visual side too. Still amuses me when they play a clip of Chappers singing to Girls Aloud from a few years ago...

Dont think so, they are just re-playing part of the concert between 9am-10am the next morning.

NOTE TO R1 TECH TEAM - Add a bludy compresser/limiter to the audio! Can hardly hear what Chris is saying at times because he goes so low when talking, a compresser or limiter (like on FM) will bring that up! Its really really annoying.....Also, please just turn the audio volume up, my speakers are really bludy loud at the moment but the audio just isn't that loud from the player.

The problem is that they're skipping the normal compressor/limiters for the A/V sync, I think. But yes, it's bloody quiet.

Today's show has been quite good on the player. Less speed changes than usual, and Dom's Brainteaster just-for-fun thing. And the directing is very good.

On another note, I missed Rob DJ's quiz the other day - did they use the studio blog to post the questions up on that?

I still think that the DAB live text should be a ticket...

Oh! One more thing. Why does it encourage you to text in, with the cost details, when you can send messages for free in the player?

The player has been awful for me again today. Its when they make the video fit the player that it starts skipping. When the player is smaller and the texts come up on the side, then it dosen't skip.

As anyone with a clue would have guessed, the novelty is wearing off.

28 viewers as of 6:35. That's not a typo; that's twenty eight.

And now they're appealing for 3 more viewers to take the number up to 2,000, and spending about 10 minutes going on about Dom's VISUAL moonwalk so that 2,000 viewers out of 7,000,000 listeners can see something for a 5 second pay-off.

And then we wonder why the Daily Mail find the BBC to be easy fodder for critique.

I've been watching Moyles the last 2 days, normally from about 8:30, and the tech has been working and it's not been overkill on the plugging. Carrie on TV is funny anyway, but being able to see it is great. Also liked the quizzes, and the text messages are coming in faster.
