Looks like officialfearnecotton or at least a certain page on it has been overloaded due to Fearne tweeting out about her and Jesse having 'some lovely news'... It won't load so can't tell if it's engagement or a sprog on the way, but unlikely to be anything else.

EDIT: have deduced from replies such as "Massive Congratulations... You will make a Fantastic Mummy.xx" and "Congratulations! Enjoy Keith Lemon's baby present!" that it's an enga... no wait, a Sprog.

That's the thing about bloody mobiles. You can only do so much. I can't create topics from my mobile (although I think I should?!).

Anyhow, Jeremy Vine is discussing tractors on his show today after noon. Getting quite excited about it, as I was almost run over by one yesterday afternoon.

Well I'm going to Leeds Metropolitan in just over three weeks. That rocks enough, although I've known about that for ages now and already celebrated it (see above)

what actually rocks today is that one of my friends from College got the grades he needed and so he's going to the Met too. Happy days.

Yeah, the ones who do try hard are the people the incompetent t***s at the Jobcentre usually target for more thorough checking... at least in my experience, while other 'career dole dossers' walk in, actually say "Yeah I've done nothing this week, gimme my money" and GET IT. I've watched that happen and my complaint that they weren't cut etc was ignored. Less paperwork if they 'dont catch' people, which is bloody wrong. Plenty of those out there who try hard but they often get screwed over because of the lazy f***wits that also exist.

Have to agree. There are so many flaws. I have often thought a job centre should have "technology days" where they teach people skills they are missing out on through being out of the workplace, and being out of touch, then they are expected to step right back in there with no training, or anything.

My mate, who has also to do scanning of documents, finds he does not know how to scan, so someone is having to show him this. Unemployed too long = out of touch.

I got 7 A's 2 B's and 2 C's in my GCSE's. Was gutted with one of the C's as it was in a subject I want to do for A level but the school are gonna see what they can do and I might be able to take it anyway :D

And I won't sit down,

And I won't shut up,

But most of all I will not grow up <3

Have to agree. It is fascinating the amount of peeps that go round + round the system for years. Of course, they get the rest a bad name.

If you ARE genuinely applying for things, you shouldn't be hassled, yet the more conscentious people DO get all the hassle.

Heard a suggestion about reducing benefits. However, I should think that would only make some people commit more crimes to work out the difference. Ya know. Such a mess.

and based on Hooligan's Island, probably the best Live Show. Rik and Ade have been tweeting about this for about 2 weeks now, stuff along the lines of "Writing today with this bastard" (from Ade, with a photo of Rik).

Also, new The Thick Of It starting soon.

    • Just Vick and Katie on Wednesday (and presumably Thursday as well).
    • Unless people can provide a source for this information then it should be treated as false.   Why would Jordan sign a contract with the BBC in the autumn when he agreed a deal with Global?  He could have left in August and not had to deal with the BBC.  Vick who doesn't really like Global why would she recommend him to go there and then warn him in her post to be careful?   It's been whispered from October that Roman was thinking of going.  Roman and Jordan have the same management team.  Why would they put Jordan in a place where he would have to battle with the BBC.  They could have agreed a deal with Global for Jordan in the summer.  They might have had to pay first couple months but they would do they to secure him.  If they had known about Roman wanting to leave they could have paid Roman off to get Jordan on air quicker.  Global would also not had legal around BBC contract to deal with and would not have had to pay the BBC to release Jordan.  None of what people say makes sense and if it did happen the way people say then BBC are not the stupid ones.  It really is not a good look to be talking with Global for 6 months, to then sign a contract with a the BBC, continue to talk to Global behind BBC's back after signing and then couple of months later want to leave and to throw a hissy fit as the BBC are not giving you what you want when you want it. That not a good light for Jordan or his management.
    • Wow, surprised he signed a new contract in September but it says a lot about Jordan that he continued to a very high standard throughout last summer/autumn if this was all going on in the background.
    • They knew Roman wanted to leave early last year but wasn't officially announced but he gave them time to sort replacement. Found and offered Jordan a deal in June or July and needed time to get Jordan out of Contract at bbc and roman to do notice  Jordan had dinner with Katie Vick and Arielle to ask advice and all said he should go.
    • And they told Radio 4’s Feedback that it was an ‘experiment’ to ‘look at the best way to serve young listeners’ but reaffirmed that 280 hours commitment.
    • I doubt he wanted to go to Global if a slot before he found out kemp was leaving.
    • We're hoping to get some answers in the coming weeks
    • From what he's saying on the Pod he's been trying to get out of r1 for a while. Looks like he needed to wait for a show on global to be available. Jordan had bbq last summer with most of thr global execs and he's referenced the deal was in place then. Obviously the hold up was r1 being stubborn
    • All seems to be back to normal this morning.
    • Indeed and Jordan was already friends with Sian Welby, Will Manning and Jimmy Hill.
    • It's great to see those friendships still thriving. I think the days of Radio 1 DJs and Capital DJs being unable to co-exist is long over. You used to either be firmly BBC or commercial, and you don't get the sense that's the case anymore.
    • Maia Beth will be presenting the Radio 1 Happy shows from the 27th April replacing Katie.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001ydkr
    • Vick and Jordan together on Insta (with Ariel’s) in Ibiza. You do imagine Jordan’s ex colleagues have a very different attitude to him than management. Comments on Help! And very subtle comments on Capital Breakfast suggest Jordan was frustrated with Radio 1 / BBC management.
    • I can name quite a few people on this forum who would be better presenters than Danny.
    • His NYE shows were very good. Only thing I would say is he was shackled down slightly there. During his peak he played some great trance stuff in the late 90s and early 00s. So if he were to do a regular show that would have to feature more. Aside from I'd love to see him back.
