;388183']They just look like they're jumping on the 3D bandwagon though. How can you experience 3D on such a small screen? It's only really IMAX that does good 3D effects. I'd rather have a Wii or something.

the screen is a decent size for a hand-held & it's for games not movies' date=' it will take 3D photo's though, i do agree that IMAX is the best way to watch movies in 3D & 2D, i have also used 3D TV's at Gadget Show Live & one of the best was a £2300 Samsung 50" & it worked really well but you had to use the glasses, but LED back-lit TV's are on the way with screens like the ones used in the 3DS so you won't need the glasses, the 3DS is just the first step.

i have a Wii & it's great, but i don't use it as much now as i have a Xbox Kinect :)

3D = FAD. It failed once already. Interactive entertainment may be the way to go to utilize it properly, but I don't think it's really needed for a handheld, I'd just be thinkin what's the point?

i slightly agree, also 3D for 3D sake is crap like movies that are converted for 3D in post-production, if your going to make a 3D movie then film it in 3D in the first place, as i said above the 3DS is a easy & cheap way to get into 3D they are looking at having movies playing on it & the screen size is no different to the likes of the iphone, also Apple are looking into 3D now.

3D = FAD.

I totally agree. Animated/GCI films in 3D? Bring it on! Generic tv shows and "real life" films in 3D? no thank you.

I just don't see the need in doing it most of the time, its like film companies are doing it just because they have the technology available. I'm quite fortunate in that I have a Cineworld card so I only have to pay £1.50 to see a 3D film (on top of the montly membership cost of unlimited), but I have friends who don't and a 3D film can be very expensive for them to go and see. I also don't like having to put them on top of my normal glasses, when I went to see Tron the other week I ended up taking them off to watch the 2D bits because I was finding it so irritable. I wanted to go and see Green Hornet yesterday as I had the day off and nothing to do but in the end I didnt bother because the cinema isnt showing the 2D version any more.

I think HD and Blu-ray is definitly the way forward in terms of technology but I really hope this obsession TV companies/manufacturers and the film industry has will calm down

Thing is some film companies are using it as an excuse to whine even more about piracy cutting into profits 'because the movie costs so much more to make'... while they make movies that keep breaking records for takings... Way I figure it, if things were as bad as that, the companies would have gone bust long ago.

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the NY Jets last night, now the Superbowl in a couple of weeks is between them and the Green Bay Packers, it can ONLY be awesome :D (so good that I actually like both teams and am undecided on which one to root for more, will probably be happy either way really as long as it's a good game, which it looks set to be)

Aha it's me I am back after a loooong absence. What rocks? Well... I live in an awesome house share (We had a problem with housemates.... They trashed the house and threatened to kill me and thankfully they are gone) I have awesome new housemates. I have a gorgeous boyfriend. I am doing a spot of modelling. I am happy. (Hopefully) Old miserable Danni has gone and new happy Danni (or Kitty as people call me these days) is here.

I still don't have a computer but I have my Galaxy S which is good enough hehe.

Danni is back!

    • Now in it's third week, the new Capital Breakfast Show seems to be settling down well and there are more of the informal, random Jordan topics appearing.  Though it is clear he wants to be seen slightly differently. It really is a very decent listen.
    • Just Vick and Katie on Wednesday (and presumably Thursday as well).
    • Unless people can provide a source for this information then it should be treated as false.   Why would Jordan sign a contract with the BBC in the autumn when he agreed a deal with Global?  He could have left in August and not had to deal with the BBC.  Vick who doesn't really like Global why would she recommend him to go there and then warn him in her post to be careful?   It's been whispered from October that Roman was thinking of going.  Roman and Jordan have the same management team.  Why would they put Jordan in a place where he would have to battle with the BBC.  They could have agreed a deal with Global for Jordan in the summer.  They might have had to pay first couple months but they would do they to secure him.  If they had known about Roman wanting to leave they could have paid Roman off to get Jordan on air quicker.  Global would also not had legal around BBC contract to deal with and would not have had to pay the BBC to release Jordan.  None of what people say makes sense and if it did happen the way people say then BBC are not the stupid ones.  It really is not a good look to be talking with Global for 6 months, to then sign a contract with a the BBC, continue to talk to Global behind BBC's back after signing and then couple of months later want to leave and to throw a hissy fit as the BBC are not giving you what you want when you want it. That not a good light for Jordan or his management.
    • Wow, surprised he signed a new contract in September but it says a lot about Jordan that he continued to a very high standard throughout last summer/autumn if this was all going on in the background.
    • They knew Roman wanted to leave early last year but wasn't officially announced but he gave them time to sort replacement. Found and offered Jordan a deal in June or July and needed time to get Jordan out of Contract at bbc and roman to do notice  Jordan had dinner with Katie Vick and Arielle to ask advice and all said he should go.
    • And they told Radio 4’s Feedback that it was an ‘experiment’ to ‘look at the best way to serve young listeners’ but reaffirmed that 280 hours commitment.
    • I doubt he wanted to go to Global if a slot before he found out kemp was leaving.
    • We're hoping to get some answers in the coming weeks
    • From what he's saying on the Pod he's been trying to get out of r1 for a while. Looks like he needed to wait for a show on global to be available. Jordan had bbq last summer with most of thr global execs and he's referenced the deal was in place then. Obviously the hold up was r1 being stubborn
    • All seems to be back to normal this morning.
    • Indeed and Jordan was already friends with Sian Welby, Will Manning and Jimmy Hill.
    • It's great to see those friendships still thriving. I think the days of Radio 1 DJs and Capital DJs being unable to co-exist is long over. You used to either be firmly BBC or commercial, and you don't get the sense that's the case anymore.
    • Maia Beth will be presenting the Radio 1 Happy shows from the 27th April replacing Katie.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001ydkr
    • Vick and Jordan together on Insta (with Ariel’s) in Ibiza. You do imagine Jordan’s ex colleagues have a very different attitude to him than management. Comments on Help! And very subtle comments on Capital Breakfast suggest Jordan was frustrated with Radio 1 / BBC management.
    • I can name quite a few people on this forum who would be better presenters than Danny.
