What rocks in your life?

I'm going back to school for my last year in one week. It's a bit sad, to be honest, but I'm also looking forward to moving on, having my gap year, starting to study and all that, so that's good. And the holidays are starting to get boring, so I'd quite like to go back to school now.

Oh, and my sister is coming home for the weekend. She's in a kind of boarding school in Denmark for the next year and they already started two weeks ago, but now she's spending a weekend at home, yay :)

For three hours graft I'd get £14.40. Sick.

Is that below minimum wage or on it? Either way that really is quite shocking.

Only thing with my work at the moment is it's a bit thin on the ground, so as soon as I'm earning it gets eaten up by previously accrued debts.

Tis all swings & roundabouts

Umm just below I think. We changed owners almost two years ago and I was on Cath and Steve's (the owner's we had until two years ago) contract and was due to go up to £5.80 when I was 18.

Buuut I turned 18 under these new owners and got forced onto their contract even though I was supposed to stay on Cath and Steve's. So I get £4.80 an hour and when I was working one day a week before I went to uni I'd be losing up to £300 a year. Nice.

My mum's my manager and she's tried and tried to get my contract changed back but the directors won't let me incase I "come into contact with fellow Hunts employees and brag about how high my wages are". This is stupid because a) I'm never going to come into contact with those Lancastrians and B) Like I'd go up to someone and say: "Hi my name's Emma, I earn £5.80 an hour, that's more than you so haha!". Haha if you don't remind me then I won't remember

I rang Mum and she was playing farm town while talking to me so in between telling me about people there'd be random exclamations of 'my goat won't sit still' or 'it says it's a rooster when it should be a sheep! It is a rooster! Oh no, now it's a sheep.'

Definitely one of the most amusing conversations I've had in a while.

After a month of working for nothing, they've found some money to pay me for a couple of weeks' work, starting next Friday. Things are looking up.

Also last night I went to see The Offspring with some friends who had a spare ticket, was really fun. Tomorrow I'm off to Reading, although I'm knackered and haven't packed anything yet.

We will remember :)

My sister and I play Farmville on Facebook and she's always talking about how she needs to harvest her berries and crops.

I only have today and tomorrow left on the stupid course. Next week I am mostly going to be sleeping in, playing xbox and wii, abusing mah Geek and baking stupid amounts of cakes. Generally taking advantage of the being unemployed thing like I haven't been able to for the entire summer...
