What sucks in your life?

if anyone has a samsung galaxy s3, don't upgrade. you lose sky go, and apparently it's going to take sky months to sort out an upgrade for the new jellybean firmware. the phone also runs slower. i've spent all day restoring my phone back to factory settings with the ice cream firmware, with lots of risks involved.

Fortunately don't use Sky Go. Sky need to get their act together with resolving these issues.

it's a big reason why i went on the 'one plan' with three to begin with, i like to be able to watch the football if i'm out and about. sky seem to be too busy messing around with pleasing iphone users, not realising that there are other smartphones on the market which are just as good.

got it all set up with the old ice cream firmware now, with it backed up to my computer. the only trouble is that it keeps giving me annoying mesages telling me to update to the new jellybean firmware. however it can be halted (unless you update an app, then it re-appears) if you force stop the 'software update' feature in applications manager.

i will update it to jellybean as soon as sky pull their finger out.

on the grid.

I haz too many controlled assessments, and if anyone has ever done a science ISA, then you are incredible. I have my phsics, biology and chemistry ones coming up soon, and each one is worth 25% of the GCSE. Exams? I can deal with months of non-stop revision, but ISAs are something different. . .

I hate Michael Gove.

Also the OCR exam board are annoying.

OMASM. Radio presenters are like fruit. Matt is my kumquat and Scott is blatantly my orange.

I also hate Michael Gove. But at least you're not paying 9 grand a year for the pleasure of learning stuff xD

Also WJEC are way more annoying.

And I won't sit down,

And I won't shut up,

But most of all I will not grow up <3

Sorry !!

Just found out from an unemployed neighbour that this f* Government will be able to SPY on people doing their jobsearches. From Monday, 19th November apparently a new thing coming where you have to allow access to the Job Centre to view your new job search account?! I mean, what the fuck? !

  • 2 weeks later...

Having to return to the 'Orange' shop (I knew I would) - every new 'phone requires numerous trips to the 'Orange' shop. Have a sound problem with my new 'phone, so when I make videos, I would have to shout over every one to be heard on playback. Also, when I access youtube, each video is only playing for a few seconds, then shutting off. Other than this, we are fine !!

Luvin the new ability to muck about with photos and turn them into different looking pix.

Knowing someone rather close to me is dealing with depression and huge self esteem issues. Its not the cause of them, but having recently found themselves single is not helping either. Rather surprisingly this has been for a few years and there was no sign at all, not to me anyway.

Felt very odd seeing someone who I am more used to thinking of a running around a rugby pitch trying to disintegrate the opposition sat in a corner of a room crying :\

Attending a pointless meeting today with pointless f* people. Longing for the weekend for some space (IF that is indeed possible) - weather doesn't seem to promising for Saturday, so I may not manage my cycling.

PLUS my newspaper "fame" is starting to become a menace. Got so many people asking "What are YOU going to do next"? Like I was the only person in the situation, eh?! Not to mention the fact I STILL have not got any more correspondence from Parliament, and will have to follow this up next week. After that, we MAY see what I will DO next.

Why do OTHER people have no patience. PLUS, I had someone try to TELL me where I should go and live next. Er... I... yes, that is right... I will decide on what I think of the next place I will go and live in.

    • There was a time when everyone knew Zane Lowe or Annie Mac or Judge Jules or Dave Pearce or Annie Nightingale. Does the Radio 1 generation know the current bunch?
    • Looks like it's off to Preston!
    • Would be nice to give more presence to the specialist shows over bank holidays. Surely the best way to promote new music credentials over anthems? As much as I accept it's very popular.
    • Peak radio 1 ! I agree with Bluestraw there was huge presence by specialist presenters then , certainly something I think radio1 could do more of now. Remember the takeover where specialist DJs would swap into main shows for a week? Or do we recall In New DJs We Trust, the competition on Chris moyles show where the winner would get a DJ set at radio 1s Ibiza weekend, and that is how Danny Howard’s radio career starters
    • Yeah. He started on R1 in the late 90's when they used do the 'Sessions in the Nations' where they used to split for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. He then moved to daytimes, firstly on weekends in 2003 then they replaced Mark & Lard on the mid afternoon slot in 2004.  Then he moved to late evenings as a specialist DJ.
    • Thanks for sharing that - I don't think I've seen it before. Didn't realise that Colin Murray off of Countdown and R5L used to be on R1! Several other current R2/R5L/R6M names there too.
    • 29th April has updated to show Dan back as presenter but still Nels in for Alyx on Introducing Rock.
    • Where do we think Radio 2 in the Park will be this year? Personally I'm thinking Swindon after Scott's clue of it having many roundabouts and since Big Weekend is at Luton I can't imagine they'd go to Milton Keynes.
    • Yeah, I feel like they need a big push on Jack to cement him in his new position. But it shouldn't just be Jack, you've got Sian and Alyx for instance, who are relatively new faces.
    • Now in it's third week, the new Capital Breakfast Show seems to be settling down well and there are more of the informal, random Jordan topics appearing.  Though it is clear he wants to be seen slightly differently. It really is a very decent listen.
    • Just watched that advert and it made me realise quite how many 'big' specialist presenters there were back then
    • I've been reminded of this Radio 1 cinema advert. I remember being so excited to see it. The In New Music We Trust era. Everything felt so cool, even if they had Westwood.
    • Just Vick and Katie on Wednesday (and presumably Thursday as well).
    • Unless people can provide a source for this information then it should be treated as false.   Why would Jordan sign a contract with the BBC in the autumn when he agreed a deal with Global?  He could have left in August and not had to deal with the BBC.  Vick who doesn't really like Global why would she recommend him to go there and then warn him in her post to be careful?   It's been whispered from October that Roman was thinking of going.  Roman and Jordan have the same management team.  Why would they put Jordan in a place where he would have to battle with the BBC.  They could have agreed a deal with Global for Jordan in the summer.  They might have had to pay first couple months but they would do they to secure him.  If they had known about Roman wanting to leave they could have paid Roman off to get Jordan on air quicker.  Global would also not had legal around BBC contract to deal with and would not have had to pay the BBC to release Jordan.  None of what people say makes sense and if it did happen the way people say then BBC are not the stupid ones.  It really is not a good look to be talking with Global for 6 months, to then sign a contract with a the BBC, continue to talk to Global behind BBC's back after signing and then couple of months later want to leave and to throw a hissy fit as the BBC are not giving you what you want when you want it. That not a good light for Jordan or his management.
    • Wow, surprised he signed a new contract in September but it says a lot about Jordan that he continued to a very high standard throughout last summer/autumn if this was all going on in the background.
