What sucks in your life?

My life's fantastic now, but I'm still being haunted by a lost love. I hate it when it creeps up on me. Reminding me of how beautiful he was, body and soul. And he was so very beautiful.

Needless to say I'm self medicating with a bit of Smiths!

Grt. Just found out my neighbour's house has been broken into (not there at the mo), so ANOTHER day of having to go to a police station to report this same thing that I reported about 10 days ago?! Landlord fixed the back of the house, but left the front window all broken - so blatently obvious nobody was there?!?

Yet again, have to spend my time sorting this shit out. Considering going to my local MP to see more about the lack of patrols around our area.

The festival is well under way but the weather is either too pish or unpredictable for me to be bothered seeing much of the street stuff unless I'm on a break at work. Hopefully it'll improve before the end of the month though. 4 shows seen already.

So many people losing jobs, so many places not hiring. Where is this gonna end, i swear. #lifeunderconservatives

I still think it's more down to the idiotic bankers and their gambles that crippled the economy... and that was under Labour. At least Blair did SOME not-bad things in among his warmongering and Bush-Poodle-dom. Admittedly Camoron is just making it Worse though, protecting buddies who could help by paying their taxes worth billions while naming and shaming a minor celeb with a minor 'debt'...

I appear to recall Gordon Brown saying he had wanted to bring in stricter regulations against these bankers, no?! labour are long out of power now, and the crisis is escalating. yet another shop has closed in my local town, yet more people down the job centre. the conservatives are all talk about sorting unemployment, but do pish all...... Why? Because they are lining their own greedy and us further down the scale are paying.

Most of them are scumbags mind, with an outdated viewpoint on the world and on the economy. No surprises everything's screwed really.

Seems to apply to all sides, but at least Louise "Everyone who tries to debate valid points with me is a misogynist" Mensch is quitting, that has to be good for Corby... probably going off to focus on her own highly successful version of Twitter, the one with a mammoth FIVE active users...

I don't believe its all down to these supposidly evil bankers. Personally I think its down to a multitude of things, yes the banks have played their part, governments will have to shoulder the blame as well but then we also have the public at large who thus far appear to have got away without having to take much responsibility for this. I also happen to believe the media are responsible as well for scaremongering and changing peopels mentality which is what has lead us down this path.

Everyone wants things cheaper and cheaper, so we're not willing to spend money on something if we think we can get it for less somewhere. Shops lose business and close as a result, ok granted someone might not have a massive amount of money to spend but it is still a contributing factor as far as I'm concerned. We're also holding onto our money more, I am certainly not innocent in that either, and because we're holding onto it its not moving around. The benefits system in my opinion has also had an influence in all of this as well, but I have a feeling my feelings on that wouldn't go down well so for the time being I shall avoid that.

Compensation culture has to be given a mention here as well, I was talking to the flatmate about this only yesterday. We are sort of opposed to eachothers ideas politically, she is more socialist and I am anything but. However we both agreed that we are now living in a society which thinks that if something happens to them then someone must be held to account and they should be compensated for it, seemingly no matter how trivial. For example there was once a time when if someone walked into a shop and purchased a hot apple pie, and then burnt their mouth on it they were considered idiots for not using their common sense, not now though! Now we have signs and labels on everything because there was someone once who decided it wasnt their fault, they didnt need to use common sense and they should be compensated, and worryingly they clearly won!

It is hard to describe how angry I get when I hear bankers being blamed for the state of the economy. "Why?" I hear you ask, well the answer is my Dad. He has been working for a bank since before I was even born. He is a banker, he is not a theif. He does his job as best he can to contribute to them functioning and clearly he is good at it as its been the same bank literally the entire time. Does he deserve to have people calling him, or people like him, a theif etc or blaming them for the state of the world economy? No, no he doesn't. Sometimes I'll make a joke with him about being overpaid or being a part timer if he's off on a bank holiday, but it is never EVER meant seriously. Yes the banking industry has to take some responsibility for the state of the global ecomony, but like I say, its not as if the general public is innocent in all of this either.

What a pile o rubbish. how are WE the public at large responsible? we are paying over and over for greedy people at the top. no wonder we all go about looking for bargains. tomorrow i am set to pick up a bargain bike for twenty quid. So shoot me, eh!!!! as to benefits, what do you want people to do? the government borrow more and more to fund the benefit bill, while THEY land people on the heap. The economy is chaos and today it is clegg vs cameron. in an unrelated matter, i found out why my neighbour has mysteriously vanished from her house.... She has been behind bars. tuesdays can burn already.

It's worth noting there is a difference between the kind of Bankers I'm talking about, the type that gamble recklessly on markets with other people's money as opposed to those who just happen to work in branches of a bank. Sorry if this difference is too subtle for some to recognise, but I am NOT talking about the regular bank worker, and it's a HUGE and wrong leap of assumption to think I am.

Also, if you're gonna take issue with the public 'not taking any responsibility' for dealing with the situation, the public DID take some responsibility. Via the government, we bailed out those gamblers and have yet to see any return on that (at least in the UK, it's something Obama pushes for in the US while Cameron protects his friends in the Sector), not good considering said banks post profits in the millions and those bail-outs were supposed to be LOANS.

As just discussed on jezza vine's show.... From next year, if you have an extra bedroom, less will be available in council tax benefit, so people are gonna have to move home. And before cxx666 starts on benefit claimants, forty percent of people claiming council tax benefit WORK. yup, let's all go out and spend, spend, spend #sarcasm

My brother may be moving abroad, or perhaps London. Not enjoying his job and he's been offered trails to play rugby semi professionally. London wouldn't be too bad because its still in the UK so I could make random visits when I have time off but abroad would be very unlikely for me. Not convinced London would be a good idea for him though, I genuinely think he'd go mad down there.

Huh. Even by Viv standards that was cruel.

Anyway, everyone I know seems to be ignoring me at the moment. It's like I'm talking to myself all the time. I mean, I know I'm a useless idiot most of the time, and also a complete hermit at the moment, but I honestly dunno what I've done wrong. Maybe I'm more of a shit to know than I thought *shrugs*

still, I'm going off to Leeds soon so I shouldn't be bothered. I'll get to know new people soon enough. But it still hurts.

    • Now in it's third week, the new Capital Breakfast Show seems to be settling down well and there are more of the informal, random Jordan topics appearing.  Though it is clear he wants to be seen slightly differently. It really is a very decent listen.
    • Just Vick and Katie on Wednesday (and presumably Thursday as well).
    • Unless people can provide a source for this information then it should be treated as false.   Why would Jordan sign a contract with the BBC in the autumn when he agreed a deal with Global?  He could have left in August and not had to deal with the BBC.  Vick who doesn't really like Global why would she recommend him to go there and then warn him in her post to be careful?   It's been whispered from October that Roman was thinking of going.  Roman and Jordan have the same management team.  Why would they put Jordan in a place where he would have to battle with the BBC.  They could have agreed a deal with Global for Jordan in the summer.  They might have had to pay first couple months but they would do they to secure him.  If they had known about Roman wanting to leave they could have paid Roman off to get Jordan on air quicker.  Global would also not had legal around BBC contract to deal with and would not have had to pay the BBC to release Jordan.  None of what people say makes sense and if it did happen the way people say then BBC are not the stupid ones.  It really is not a good look to be talking with Global for 6 months, to then sign a contract with a the BBC, continue to talk to Global behind BBC's back after signing and then couple of months later want to leave and to throw a hissy fit as the BBC are not giving you what you want when you want it. That not a good light for Jordan or his management.
    • Wow, surprised he signed a new contract in September but it says a lot about Jordan that he continued to a very high standard throughout last summer/autumn if this was all going on in the background.
    • They knew Roman wanted to leave early last year but wasn't officially announced but he gave them time to sort replacement. Found and offered Jordan a deal in June or July and needed time to get Jordan out of Contract at bbc and roman to do notice  Jordan had dinner with Katie Vick and Arielle to ask advice and all said he should go.
    • And they told Radio 4’s Feedback that it was an ‘experiment’ to ‘look at the best way to serve young listeners’ but reaffirmed that 280 hours commitment.
    • I doubt he wanted to go to Global if a slot before he found out kemp was leaving.
    • We're hoping to get some answers in the coming weeks
    • From what he's saying on the Pod he's been trying to get out of r1 for a while. Looks like he needed to wait for a show on global to be available. Jordan had bbq last summer with most of thr global execs and he's referenced the deal was in place then. Obviously the hold up was r1 being stubborn
    • All seems to be back to normal this morning.
    • Indeed and Jordan was already friends with Sian Welby, Will Manning and Jimmy Hill.
    • It's great to see those friendships still thriving. I think the days of Radio 1 DJs and Capital DJs being unable to co-exist is long over. You used to either be firmly BBC or commercial, and you don't get the sense that's the case anymore.
    • Maia Beth will be presenting the Radio 1 Happy shows from the 27th April replacing Katie.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001ydkr
    • Vick and Jordan together on Insta (with Ariel’s) in Ibiza. You do imagine Jordan’s ex colleagues have a very different attitude to him than management. Comments on Help! And very subtle comments on Capital Breakfast suggest Jordan was frustrated with Radio 1 / BBC management.
    • I can name quite a few people on this forum who would be better presenters than Danny.
