Flatmate told me the other day that he might be moving back in with his mum for a bit when the minimum lease on this place is up. Glad he's given me some time to think about what I'll do though. I basically have 2 choices, 1 is to take this place on myself and keep an ear out for anyone wanting a room, or I can look around for a 1 bedroom place although I think I'd be struggling to find a place as nice as this for much less than I'd be paying here, and this is in an ideal location for me as well.

If you advertise a room, then you could get quite a good rent on it then.

Thats true, but I'd be a bit wary about letting a stranger live with me. I told my brother about it incase he was moving back down here after uni and didn't want to go back to living with Mum and Dad but he said he's pretty sure he'll be stayig in Aberdeen if he can find work. Bit of a shame really as we get on very well and would be ideally suited as neither of us has any time for messy people. I've got a friend I'm gonna tell about it as well although I have a feeling if he was to move out of the parents it would be into his girlfriends place, no harm in mentioning it though. I think getting a share of a really nice house/flat for about £400 (rent, gas, electricity, council tax, internet all included) is a pretty good looking offer to be honest.

Stress. On top of the flat business I've got a couple of worries at work. The more I stress the more tired i get, the more likely I am to not pay full attention which in turn leads to worries, stress and tiredness.

I also need sleep, Going from a week of back shift to earlies with only one day off in between has left me absolutely shattered. Having some very bizarre thing going on in my mind, and my head is a complete mess at the moment.

Don't you just hate it when you have a friend and they change when they get into a relationship?

I have a friend, or had, who knows, who I used to speak to all the time. Anything they wanted to speak about and I'd usually hear about it, be it work or friends or their love life, sometimes going into unusually specific details about the love life infact. So anyways they met someone and of course I heard all about them and how stunning they were (although personally I didn't see it whatsoever but I kept my mouth shut). This developed into what is now a long term reationship and it seems they are rarely apart.

In the last 7 months I've seen them just once, now I know this is partly down to me now working a lot more hours in a week than I used to but I've tried to make the effort to keep in touch with them when I could. I admit when I was with my last girlfriend I accidently drifted apart from a lot of my friends so some would say that this is karma, but it really pisses me off when I can see that they're still making the effort to go and see others who live elsewhere yet I'm only 15 minutes away and nothing, we're even on the same bloody bus route! When I was last off work I asked if they wanted a catch up and got a bit of a vague response about possibly being off one day but no plans were made. A few days later I was asked what I was doing one day and I said I was working but would have been free after work, but nope they were only seeing if I'd be able to give the pair of them a lift to the airport as they were going on holiday.

Sorry about the long speech, seems I'm unable to do a shorter version whenever I want a moan about something.....

      My perspective when saying ‘alienating’  was from a listener , a new listener to a new music show where every track is unfamiliar can be alienating. When I used to run a music blog website and took my eye off the ball it could be hard to get finger back on pulse. I remember first listening to after 7pm on radio 1 and it feeling like a different world of music completely as a teenager- I think this format knocks them barriers down and makes a smooth transition from daytime playlists to new music show  taking listener deeper down as show progresses yeah you are bang on with setting the agenda - what a great influential role to have

      29th April has Alyx Holcombe in for Daniel P Carter on the Rock show and Nels Hylton in for Alyx on Introducing Rock. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Monday 6th May (May Day Bank Holiday) schedules are completely different. Looks like it's a Countdown to Radio 1's Big Weekend day. Changed timeslots in the morning as well with no presenters listed. 6am-10am (Breakfast slot changed from 7am-10:30am) 10am-1pm (Mid morning/early afternoon slot changed from 10:30-12:45pm) 1pm-3:30pm (As normal) 3:30pm-6pm (No Newsbeat) 6pm-8pm (Replaces New Music Show) Rest of evening schedule as normal.

      Not sure what it really means, but Scott Mills is one of the least distracting DJs according to new research. https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/article-13283609/Most-distracting-radio-podcast-hosts-driving-revealed-Mark-Wright-Chris-Evans-list.html It says Radio 1 though, which is not only inaccurate, but also I can only imagine it applying to his Radio 2 show. How many sounds effects did he used to play on Radio 1, ha.

      I would rather do the new music show than the breakfast show early starts, being cheery and entertaining isn’t my vibe and being hip and on trend. With new music it’s a different kettle of fish that could get my teeth into and enjoy researching and planning of the show and coming up with ideas and making my mark in away that I don’t think I have the ideas for a breakfast. I don’t see how it could be alienating but I enjoy the niche and speciality of expertise that new music shows gives it’s good spot of giving you the headlines and setting the agenda of mainstream music.

      Absolutely, Jack is such an incredible broadcaster already, incredibly entertaining with such brilliant music knowledge and his excitement is contagious, I've never really listened to New Music Shows like Future Sounds but I'm instantly invested in new music due to his show, as I'm sure many others are too.  yes the effects are a little strange but after listening back they're strangely charming when you get used to them.

      Jack has smashed it He was born for this show, he said he’d been dreaming of it and you could tell. Such passion and energy as always with Jack but in a show that can grab people’s attention and drag them down the rabbit hole of new music if you had a keen interest in discovering new music but haven’t in a while, new music shows can be alienating with no familiarity until you ‘get into it’ - the new show has ensured you can ease into to get back into sync . i love the Zane influences - he will be the forefront of where every emerging and returning artist wants to be with this show . Very excited for this chapter

      Yes, I feel that unless it’s for a special sessions with a large ensemble band that for live sessions going out live on the radio. Never saw why they haven’t used the live lounge studio and feel that room could be used more.

      Interesting now Zane has for apple interviewed anything from an artists that have charted and doing less interviews with new and emerging talents chatting to Shakira, Usher, Kelly Clarkson and Shania Twain. Yes, that is a positive thing about Jack Saunders. Although I don’t mind it from time to time for a presenter to be honest and spill an unsavoury opinion about music on the station like Annie did with Fall Out Boy.

      Interesting Jack mentioned they've got new studios at Maida Vale; you'd think, with the move to Stratford, they wouldn't bother update the studios so close to the end...

      Yep Jack is very much Radio 1's modern day Zane Lowe - but with the bonus that he does feel a bit a bit more open-minded and open to chart stuff than Zane was. I could never imagine Zane being a chart host the way Jack is - I always had the sense if Zane didn't approve of your music taste he'd make you well aware of it.
