Valentine's DAY is just a load of over-commercialised tosh, DC!!!!

oh fully agreed of course. but my point being it's a constant reminder of how things are for me, this time last year i wasn't bothered. but with the way things have been it's the reminder i don't need right now.

Thanks, guys. It's a bit sucky to say the least. I am so fed up of going to bed really tired and then not being able to sleep.

hey bumble, you know you can always drop by here and post if your feeling (understandably) low. dosen't fix everything but it helps sometimes i think when you type/write stuff down, maybe you clear it up to yourself to some degree i guess.

I know how you feel so i'm sending you a Valentine's day kiss X

thanks, i'm taking all the love i can get right now with the way things are.

The people who kindly looked after our cats for us also 'tidied'. Which apparently involves putting everything on the side into a bag for me to re-organise. Including the fecking bills. Good job I found them as they're due tomorrow and a late charge would have been £19. Not fricking amused.

Also not looking forward to work tomorrow. First time back. Bleh.

There/ They're/ Their. Different words.

I'm massively bored. I can't think of ANYTHING interesting to do. This is the most boring weekend ever. And if nothing changes, it'll go on like that. I never thought I'd say that, but I'm actually really looking forward to going to school again. Then at least I have something to do during the day...

couldn't sleep again. i've been so down for too long now, just when i think i'm turning a corner my world starts to cave in again. i really need help i think, i've tried but can't turn it around by myself. it's come down to the fact that going to the gym is the only thing keeping me going, and i find that really sad.

i have my faults, but i still believe in myself enough to know that i am a good person and have a lot to offer. it looks as though i'm going to have to rebuild my life from scratch to fix this. i need to be around lots of new people, i need a better job with routine. i need to get back to the whitty person i once was, i can't even think of anything good to post on here like i used to.

i have yes. but i don't even know where to look or how to go about it, i mean i've never been this way and needed help like this before at all in my life. i know that there are people worse off, so i'm worried that they'd ridicule my situation and compare it with everyone elses'. that's the reason why i don't talk to people about it.

I've been waiting for months to get an interview with a local bus company to be a trainee bus driver, eventually got the interview and although the pay is fantastic (up to 26K a year), their policy on people leaving before 2 years and an issue with their holiday policy both concern me and I'm not sure its a job I want to do any more.

Got home and talked about it, then I've had mum telling me its not right what they say despite me saying if you agree to work then you agree to work under those terms and conditions etc etc. Been worrying about this for almost a week, even went to the expense of getting new glasses so I wouldn't fail any sight part of the driving test and it turns out it might all have been for nothing.

Not impressed with censorship

Oh no. I would imagine counsellors would have to listen to all kinds of stuff from people somehow!!

Why not just try googling counsellors in the area where you live, see what comes up, then e-mail / 'phone them!! :-)

they probably deal with people like Doovde every 5 minutes, or so :hahaha:

    • There was a time when everyone knew Zane Lowe or Annie Mac or Judge Jules or Dave Pearce or Annie Nightingale. Does the Radio 1 generation know the current bunch?
    • Looks like it's off to Preston!
    • Would be nice to give more presence to the specialist shows over bank holidays. Surely the best way to promote new music credentials over anthems? As much as I accept it's very popular.
    • Peak radio 1 ! I agree with Bluestraw there was huge presence by specialist presenters then , certainly something I think radio1 could do more of now. Remember the takeover where specialist DJs would swap into main shows for a week? Or do we recall In New DJs We Trust, the competition on Chris moyles show where the winner would get a DJ set at radio 1s Ibiza weekend, and that is how Danny Howard’s radio career starters
    • Yeah. He started on R1 in the late 90's when they used do the 'Sessions in the Nations' where they used to split for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. He then moved to daytimes, firstly on weekends in 2003 then they replaced Mark & Lard on the mid afternoon slot in 2004.  Then he moved to late evenings as a specialist DJ.
    • Thanks for sharing that - I don't think I've seen it before. Didn't realise that Colin Murray off of Countdown and R5L used to be on R1! Several other current R2/R5L/R6M names there too.
    • 29th April has updated to show Dan back as presenter but still Nels in for Alyx on Introducing Rock.
    • Where do we think Radio 2 in the Park will be this year? Personally I'm thinking Swindon after Scott's clue of it having many roundabouts and since Big Weekend is at Luton I can't imagine they'd go to Milton Keynes.
    • Yeah, I feel like they need a big push on Jack to cement him in his new position. But it shouldn't just be Jack, you've got Sian and Alyx for instance, who are relatively new faces.
    • Now in it's third week, the new Capital Breakfast Show seems to be settling down well and there are more of the informal, random Jordan topics appearing.  Though it is clear he wants to be seen slightly differently. It really is a very decent listen.
    • Just watched that advert and it made me realise quite how many 'big' specialist presenters there were back then
    • I've been reminded of this Radio 1 cinema advert. I remember being so excited to see it. The In New Music We Trust era. Everything felt so cool, even if they had Westwood.
    • Just Vick and Katie on Wednesday (and presumably Thursday as well).
    • Unless people can provide a source for this information then it should be treated as false.   Why would Jordan sign a contract with the BBC in the autumn when he agreed a deal with Global?  He could have left in August and not had to deal with the BBC.  Vick who doesn't really like Global why would she recommend him to go there and then warn him in her post to be careful?   It's been whispered from October that Roman was thinking of going.  Roman and Jordan have the same management team.  Why would they put Jordan in a place where he would have to battle with the BBC.  They could have agreed a deal with Global for Jordan in the summer.  They might have had to pay first couple months but they would do they to secure him.  If they had known about Roman wanting to leave they could have paid Roman off to get Jordan on air quicker.  Global would also not had legal around BBC contract to deal with and would not have had to pay the BBC to release Jordan.  None of what people say makes sense and if it did happen the way people say then BBC are not the stupid ones.  It really is not a good look to be talking with Global for 6 months, to then sign a contract with a the BBC, continue to talk to Global behind BBC's back after signing and then couple of months later want to leave and to throw a hissy fit as the BBC are not giving you what you want when you want it. That not a good light for Jordan or his management.
    • Wow, surprised he signed a new contract in September but it says a lot about Jordan that he continued to a very high standard throughout last summer/autumn if this was all going on in the background.
