I’ve voted for Greg, I think his show has sounded outstanding this year, particularly the last few months with R1 Traitors, Rogue Promises and Callum’s bedtime story to name a few. 
 

Matt and Mollie’s show also sounds excellent and absolutely flies by so I will put them in close second. 
 

In terms of the weekend, both Sam and Danni and James have reallly settled into their slots and they sound like they could have those shows for years and years if they wanted them (I wouldn’t be surprised if they all end up on weekdays at some point however)

Matt & Mollie's show got my vote. It always puts a smile on my face and absolutely flies by. It feels like the spiritual successor to Scott & Chris in that slot. 

Agree with others that Sam & Danni and James are sounding great on weekends. 

With Going Home the issue is the line-up is incredibly inconsistent and quality can very much vary depending on who's on.

It was very close between Greg and M&M for me. The breakfast show has definitely stepped up a gear again in the past year or two. Fully agree about Matt & Mollie. I haven't been feeling the best this week, but having them on has put a smile on my face. As you say, very much the natural successors to Scott & Chris. Hopefully they do a similar longer stint on that show.

      I'd very much like it to be him too. Would be the most logical option, As far as guest/celebrity stand ins go, I like mind Ellie Taylor... she's definitely one of the better stand ins. I can't see them getting her to cover the slot in the interim period if she is to become the full time presenter in September though. She's doing the following 3 weeks of Saturday lunchtimes. I wonder if she's Emma's replacement during Strictly season?

      I'm liking what I've heard so far. She was brilliant on tea time and whenever she covered Scott too. Glad she's brought some her jingles/songs with her, but shortened/updated them for brekky.  PS was she as silly and bonkers when she was on R1 as she is on R2? I don't really remember much of her old shows on R1, although I do remember listening to her covering for Fearne.

      I have no clue why you thought a complaint and FOI request would go anywhere?! And I maintain what I've written elsewhere, that the 'Jamie problem' is one that exists mainly on forums and isn't felt by the wider listener group!

      A couple of months on and still no announcement on who is taking over teatime. We know they're rotating 'interim' hosts throughout the summer, so presumably any permanent host will be taking over at the start of September at the earliest. I'm starting to wonder if it's not OJ Borg after all. There could've been delay in the logistics of him agreeing to a London based show, or production moving up to Salford, but surely they would have announced him by now? That said, I'm surprised he's been nowhere near teatime since Sara finished. Radio 2 rarely go for outsiders when it comes to their main weekday slots, they usually promote from within so will be interesting to see who they go with? I'd be surprised if they parachute in someone that hasn't broadcast on Radio 2 before.

      Freedom of Information request – OOS2026/01183 Thank you for your email of 22nd June. The BBC is replying under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“FOI Act”). You asked: I am asking with regards to Jamie Laings contract to present the Going Home Show on BBC Radio 1. Going Home is titled as Going Home with Vick Hope. Katie Thistleton and Jamie Laing and is meant to be on Monday-Thursday 3.30pm-5.45pm on BBC Radio 1 1. Please can you confirm does Jamie have a contract to be a presenter Monday- Thursday or is he paid a fee per show. 2. Has he had his contract adjusted in the number of shows he is expected to present and/or value of his contract in the last year? 3. Do the presenters who fill in for Jamie/Vick Hope get paid the same rate as them or is that rate different? We have carefully considered your request and concluded that it is clear from your description of the information you are seeking that if the BBC held information of the kind you have asked for, it would all be held for the purposes of journalism, art or literature. The FOI Act does not apply to information held by the BBC for any of those purposes. This is explained in an information sheet enclosed with this letter. To be clear, in this case we have not searched for any information since any that we found would be non-disclosable, and the searches would not serve any useful purpose

      Nat & Vicky have just said it's Ore & Swarzy next instead of Danni & Ore.   Edit: They've just corrected themselves, it is Danni & Ore.

      Regardless of their routine, it's incredible how they all ended up parents in a short space of time of becoming a trio. Quite the baby boom at Radio 1!
