His spins landed him Elvis, Elton & George Michael, and finally Will Young’s “Leave Right Now.” He took the third spin with relief: “Great voice, good song.” Scott reminisced about announcing all of LadBaby’s Christmas No.1s and joked that picking the wrong song could “ruin your birthday.” Listeners were stunned he skipped Elton and George; Scott defended him: “It’s panto — he can crowbar anything in.”

At 9:30, Scott teased tomorrow’s guests — “Rowan Atkinson… he never does interviews!” — and Friday’s co-host Kylie. Vernon, still recovering from yesterday’s Teletubbies episode, joined cheerfully.
