BBC Introducing with Jess Iszatt will now air from 11pm to 1am.

From Sunday 27 April, Radio 1’s Sunday mid-morning schedule will be:

10am – Radio 1 00s

11am – Radio 1 10s

12pm – Radio 1 20s

All with Nat and Vicky.

 

Radio 1’s Future Soul also ending.

A 20s show makes me feel very old!

I really don't see the point in Radio 1 20's? The main daytime playlist is exactly that. I know the last half hour of the show is Anthems but it just doesn't make sense having weekend breakfast run till 10:30 on a Saturday, then 10am on Sundays.

R1 00s and R1 10s are always in the Top 10  BBC Sounds shows with under-35s % skew, which BBC cares a lot about. So this doesn’t really surprise me

Makes sense to me as the 10-11 slot on a Sunday is currently random anthems, followed by the two themed hours, whereas now it'll be themed all the way from 10-1. Personally I find the regular anthems blocks pretty lazy radio, whereas the Sunday themed hours are more engaging. Losing 30 mins from breakfast doesn't matter as it was just anthems anyway so no real content.

Fair point about the anthems 'hour', I just personally don't see the need for a 'themed' 20's show when that's pretty much what the current playlist is (new music and recent recurrents). 00's and 10's makes sense as they're pretty much nostalgia at this point, which is why they're popular on BBC Sounds.

No real need to change that IMO, Sundays are logical for the themed anthems hours but Greg and James are both superior to Nat & Vicky so they should keep those 30 mins.

Well yes but it's the 30mins of Anthems so hardly a great loss as he doesn't do much presenting during that time anyway, due to the format of Anthems.

James Cusack will actually do the first 30 minutes of Radio 1 00s from 10am to 10.30am. 
 

Nat & Vicky will do the second half of 00s followed by 10s and 20s from 10.30am.

Maybe they got inspiration from Absolute Radio 20s
