Thought Scott's observation was a good one - it can set the agenda for the day. In the afternoons you're often scrambling to find something unique to the rest of the day. I suppose with catch up and podcasts it can seem less significant but the audiences are huge.

Well, breakfast is the most listened-to timeslot on the radio.

What I'm really interested in is why drive is considered prestigious—on many stations, it's the least listened-to daytime show. Perhaps it's the type of audience during drive—a lot of working-age people who are often considered the prime target for advertisers.

Thing is I won't get to hear Scott much now he's moved. Except every once in a while. The same thing happened years ago when Chris Moyles moved from afternoons to breakfast on Radio 1.

Reason being if I'm not at work, I'll be asleep. And if I am at work, I'm on afternoons and evenings.

on the grid.
