Rebellion/piercings and tattoos

I was never a massive fan of tattoo's till I started watching Miami Ink on Discovery Real time which is all about tattoo's and it is amazing!

Still don't think I'd actually get one but it does show a whole other side to tattoo's. Think in a dreamland I'd like a rainbow ending in a pot of gold don't know where I'd put it tho?

I don't mind discreet tattoo's on men but wouldn't be instantly attracted to man covered in tattoo's that would be very off-putting to me. Piercings too, I have my ears pierced in the normal place and once in the top of my right ear but again wouldn't be instantly attracted to a man covered in piercings, I think that would put me off too. I certainly couldn't ever take him home, my mum would have a fit!!! lol

I think someone else has said it, but I don't like colour tattoos at all. Small, plain black tattoos are okay though, on some people and in the right place. I think that somewhere 'hidden' is much better, personally, I don't think it's something that I'd want to be visible all the time if I were to get one.

But I won't ever get one, because the words my friend said to me after she had hers done were "Don't ever have a tattoo, that was the most painful thing ever." Saying that, she wants another one now!

Right, now, back to me!! :P I'm still deciding where to have my next ear peircing. I quite like the look of the rook (I think that's what it's called, it says 'Inner ridge') in this picture. http://www.body-piercing.co.uk/800by600/access_pictures/piercings/inner-ridge-&-tragus2.jpg It looks like it could be quite painful though. :(

One final thought from me on tattoos: ever seen an old person with them? They move and sag and change with the elasticity of the skin (as well as fading)... What once might have been a beautiful motif probably won't be by then - and the thought of burning it off with a laser doesn't really appeal to me. I've said it before, but each to their own I guess...

Did they numb it beforehand? I had the top of my ear peirced they numbed it with some sort of freezing spray stuff and it didn't hurt at all. I didn't even realise when he had done it, I could just feel him tugging on my ear and was waiting for the pain to start when he told me it was all done! :)

I had my left ear peirced because I usually sleep on my right side, but for a few weeks afterwards I kept on waking up and I was lying on my left side. I never sleep on my left side, it was weird!

Ha that's kinda like me Bexy. When I got my eyebrow pierced I got the left one done, cause I always sleep on my right but then as soon as I got it done,I found more comfort lying on my left side! Just paranoid about it getting ripped or pulled in my sleep, but no my body decides to feel more at comfort on the piercing side ha ha

One of my mates got the skin on their wrist pierced, it's just asking to be snagged on something.

My friend had an anti eyebrow [ http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=61550648&albumID=0&imageID=3622735 ] and it got ripped out by some drunk guy waving his arms about, she's got quite a nasty scar there now but want's it re-done, it's gonna hurt so much more if she does.

i want my lip pierced

I'd say do it but I'd a "bad influence" apparently. Would you parents/work/anyone else be cool with it? If they would be then you're so lucky, took me about a year to convince my mum

Ahhh I have so much to say on this topic...

But I'm not convinced and your hopeless hearts won't stick. For the first time I know, this is now who I am.

I've never had a piercing. One of my mum's relatives had an earring ripped out while fighting with her brother as a kid, so my mum said I had to be 16 before she'd let me. It's just never really appealed to me to get anything pierced.

    • The shows surely being driven for him so all he has to do is talk between the tracks and he can’t get even get that right
    • I thought the same to that comment, the license fee is going on me babes
    • What with Jamie Laing, now him. Is it time for a new Head of the station?
    • He also just said coming up we have brand new segment, I thought they were a band 🤣 how did this man get on Radio 1? Aled needs his head testing. It’s an insult people who deserve to be on the radio
    • Of all the times not mention capital it's probably now? Jordan is flying on breakfast with chris & sian and there's a presenter on friday and saturday that doesn't know who a main r1 artist, tldp are. Mentions capital which surely has to be a big no no given recent events and then says the licence fee goes to me. Talk about vom. We can't have it on here no more as it's that unlistenable and I'm about to switch back for m&m, but this is a Maya Jama x50 level mess of a show. Forget fading the microphone down, the entire show needs fading down
    • As positives go, at least Danny said what the last song played was and upcoming song played was. Plus I guess in that link are perhaps ideas for content (asking listeners to come up with bands from things around them, things that have happened to them this week). That's where's the positives end. It comes across as no thought has gone into what Danny will say next. It gives me proper flashbacks to some Jamie Laing links (especially that one show where he was unexpectedly solo). It's ironic that for all the duos and trios on the station - the one show and DJ that is positively crying out for another DJ to help show them the ropes is left all solo. At least with Jamie Laing they learnt their lesson and he's not been left solo since.
    • How he was just faded out at the end of the link reminded me of the Oscars music fading you out
    • RPReplay_Final1713612277.mp4   You’re welcome
    • At a time when Radio 1 has surely lost listeners to Capital at Breaktast you’d be trying to protect the station so people switch back.  Certainly yesterday I didn’t switch back to Radio 1 at all.
    • Was abysmal…Surely Danny can’t be a contender for anything permanent when the new schedules are locked in I.e Matt and Mollies slot
    • Alexandra Burke creating the phrase 'Elephant In The Room' whooooooooo
    • Zane Versus.... Whooooooooo. Do You Do Fridays? WhooOOOooo.
    • The Capital Breakfast show is right up my street so far - such a fun listen. You've both been great on Radio 1 and are sounding excellent again on Capital A few quickfire questions: You've both been part of some great pairings on radio and on podcast - what goes into making a duo or trio work and sound great on air? Also, Chris - were there ever any discussions about you moving over to Radio 2 with Scott or had the Global offer already come first? Also how do you both go about managing that split between your radio 'you' and the private 'you'? You share a lot on air but also there's some understandably some stuff you keep private (famously Jordan doesn't 'talk about those things'). And how do you make sure if you're having a miserable day or are a bit low that it doesn't come across too much on air?
    • What a nightmare link at 11.15am this morning. Spent 30 seconds waffling about the name of The Last Dinner Party as if he’d never heard it before, then started mentioning Capital and the license fee, and how it’s been used to pay for him to be there, and was then cut off by the start of the next song.
    • Have been reading this all week. She's such a brave woman. Just got to the chapter where she explains why she missed Scott's leaving event at Radio 1. She talks about leaving Radio 1 because her mum's health got worse, and wanting to quietly leave radio at 44 just how she first arrived on the airwaves at 18. Worth a read!
