big sam is doing well, he is really sorting things out. not only is he telling players already there to fight for their place (babyaro etc). owen looks as though he is stopping. we now have viduka, barton, geremi, and rozehnal to help with the back 4. and geremi is a utility man so if we have some bad luck like last season he can fit in to a lot of places.

Well Southend have lost Freddy Eastwood, to be honest I dont think its too bad a loss, and 1.5mill in the transfer kitty is good stuff... Leeds are having more trouble, up for sale by the administrators.

Where would we be if we did'ht have rules....?

  • 3 weeks later...

Just finished watching Rangers V Chelsea from Ibrox. An entertaining game in which Chelsea brought their strongest team to Scotland. I was quite impressed with the Rangers centre back Carlos Cuellar who was excellent. The game has just finished 2 - 0 to Rangers with goals in the 84th Minute from Nacho Novo and 86th Minute from Filip Sebo :D. dance.gifdance.gif

chelsea might just about scrape a champions leauge place this year, they seem to have done hardly nothing to strengthen their squad at all.

and with all whats happened with barton it seems that the dark cloud is still there, we need another 3 or 4 players. a midfeilder and 3 more defenders i think. barton should be back around 4 games in.

i think we have had the 'best' if there was such a thing of dyer. now he's off to a club that just about managed to stay in the premiership last year, more or less only through one man. and back to lee bowyer as well, punch up comedy may be due! but i dont know why they are ranting so much over west ham, i dont think newcastle will win anything this season. but west ham probably wont do much better. they are talking about west ham and man city like they are going to break into the top 4 and it isn't going to happen.

well they have the team, no question. a great team now i must admit. but their fanbase is full of knobs who go to away games just to fight and they think they are on par with man u/chelsea/liverpool. i cant stand them, they talk like they have won all the cups and the champions leauge 12 times. i'll never forget the look on their faces when martins launched that screamer in at their ground last season. and they couldn't even get past john o shea between the posts.

well this has to be dealt with by watching it, like i do. it's been crap with no football, just bloody cricket and concerts all the time.

well i even see liverpool hammering chelsea home and away this season, if thats the best they have to offer then they may as well not play. newcastle can play better than them with no back 4 (as we did last season anyway). that malouda looks good though.

and christ, gerrards goal in this too. i wasn't even going to bother watching that the other day:-

probably the best english player in this country. he just dosent seem to have a bad game.

Charity Shield was quite good today, was expecting a repeat of the cup final but it was a lot better. Chelsea didnt seem to have a lot going forward think they missed Drogba a lot. United had some really good spells of classy football, given a few more games and a bit more match fitness I thnk we would have walked all over Chelsea. Ronaldo and Rooney both looked very lively and Van Der sar done well with a Hat-Trick of penalty saves. Defense looked more solid than it did against Inter, roll on opening day!!!

P.S what the hell has happened to skysports.com

It is going to be good to take part in Premier footie chat this season. I have sort of lost the plot as far as my knowledge goes as we didn't get much cover in the Championship...

Is Chappers doing the Channel five show this season? I will look forward to watching that and MoTD every week now. I haven't watched MoTD for so long it is going to be weird getting back in the habit :D

i think united deserved to win yesterday. chelsea only really had one clear-cut chance and they scored from it. and i think anyone on their day can beat chelsea becuase they aren't a good team as they are made out to be.

i know sky sports have gone for a 'new look', i'm not so keen on it so far.

Positive proof that roy keane has gone a bit crackers as he's now after Mido oh dear, with this and the signing of keiran richardson for £5.5 million time to the men in white coats to escort him to his rubber room me thinks.

    • Just Vick and Katie on Wednesday (and presumably Thursday as well).
    • Unless people can provide a source for this information then it should be treated as false.   Why would Jordan sign a contract with the BBC in the autumn when he agreed a deal with Global?  He could have left in August and not had to deal with the BBC.  Vick who doesn't really like Global why would she recommend him to go there and then warn him in her post to be careful?   It's been whispered from October that Roman was thinking of going.  Roman and Jordan have the same management team.  Why would they put Jordan in a place where he would have to battle with the BBC.  They could have agreed a deal with Global for Jordan in the summer.  They might have had to pay first couple months but they would do they to secure him.  If they had known about Roman wanting to leave they could have paid Roman off to get Jordan on air quicker.  Global would also not had legal around BBC contract to deal with and would not have had to pay the BBC to release Jordan.  None of what people say makes sense and if it did happen the way people say then BBC are not the stupid ones.  It really is not a good look to be talking with Global for 6 months, to then sign a contract with a the BBC, continue to talk to Global behind BBC's back after signing and then couple of months later want to leave and to throw a hissy fit as the BBC are not giving you what you want when you want it. That not a good light for Jordan or his management.
    • Wow, surprised he signed a new contract in September but it says a lot about Jordan that he continued to a very high standard throughout last summer/autumn if this was all going on in the background.
    • They knew Roman wanted to leave early last year but wasn't officially announced but he gave them time to sort replacement. Found and offered Jordan a deal in June or July and needed time to get Jordan out of Contract at bbc and roman to do notice  Jordan had dinner with Katie Vick and Arielle to ask advice and all said he should go.
    • And they told Radio 4’s Feedback that it was an ‘experiment’ to ‘look at the best way to serve young listeners’ but reaffirmed that 280 hours commitment.
    • I doubt he wanted to go to Global if a slot before he found out kemp was leaving.
    • We're hoping to get some answers in the coming weeks
    • From what he's saying on the Pod he's been trying to get out of r1 for a while. Looks like he needed to wait for a show on global to be available. Jordan had bbq last summer with most of thr global execs and he's referenced the deal was in place then. Obviously the hold up was r1 being stubborn
    • All seems to be back to normal this morning.
    • Indeed and Jordan was already friends with Sian Welby, Will Manning and Jimmy Hill.
    • It's great to see those friendships still thriving. I think the days of Radio 1 DJs and Capital DJs being unable to co-exist is long over. You used to either be firmly BBC or commercial, and you don't get the sense that's the case anymore.
    • Maia Beth will be presenting the Radio 1 Happy shows from the 27th April replacing Katie.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001ydkr
    • Vick and Jordan together on Insta (with Ariel’s) in Ibiza. You do imagine Jordan’s ex colleagues have a very different attitude to him than management. Comments on Help! And very subtle comments on Capital Breakfast suggest Jordan was frustrated with Radio 1 / BBC management.
    • I can name quite a few people on this forum who would be better presenters than Danny.
    • His NYE shows were very good. Only thing I would say is he was shackled down slightly there. During his peak he played some great trance stuff in the late 90s and early 00s. So if he were to do a regular show that would have to feature more. Aside from I'd love to see him back.
