i mean, it was a bit rude, if she was fucked why did the producer even let her in

maybe the on air team didnt expect her to say that

Seemed Charlie took it way personal as well.

Maybe they don't get in in real life and shes massively supported that Horse Girl track

Charlie and Arielle competed for Dance Anthems I believe

Did they really? what when Jam left?

Yeah - I remember Arielle doing an insta post about not getting it or hinted at missing out which we assumed was that

I see Ricky and Melvin going.

Maybe if they have a schedule shuffle or I can see RMC going to drive and Jordan on breakfast.

Does anyone know how the voice tracking works on R1s system, is it akin to Myroad and Playoutone?

I think Charlie has come into her own on Dance Anthems. Prefer her there to the morning show.

Never saw that one wow maybe they had to sell themselves to Aled to get the show, suspect Charlie is on more than Ricky and Melvin for doing that extra 3 hours a week too

When asked about the on-air exchange, a BBC spokesperson told RadioToday: “Whilst we would not comment on individual matters, we have strict codes of behaviour for staff and presenters, and any breaches are taken extremely seriously.”

it could be that Charlie is more annoyed because Arielle could have jeopardised both their careers or drawn more unwanted attention

It’s a truck with not much space that’s easy to walk into and assume Charlie or an exec producer who might not have been on site would have the final say who goes on air

Absolutely if it was NBH she wouldnt have got in the studio, suspect she was just looking like pissed Arielle and they trusted her to play by the rules, and she didnt, Charlie handled it well minimal fuss and shut her down in seconds

At the start that is exactly what it was, and then it kicked off, Charlie has supported that track from it's release and to have that on her watch, she wuite rightly took offence, Arielle should have known better, I am sure it will all be sorted over a vodka

I think that what would be better is if Charlie faded all the mics of and just lined up few tracks util you can go on air without any drama nay annoyance and awkward movements been presenters are best moved off air.

That sounds fair, I suppose Charlie expected a friendly drop-in from a fellow presenter. I thought she handled it very well too, though you could hear she was annoyed

if it was all sorted out between Arielle, Charlie and the production teams. If the BBC did impose a week suspension on Arielle. The BBC went a bit far when could’ve just issued a cautionary warning of when working at a BBC event or coming on air to be advised to if drink at a moderate level.

I wonder what Greg or Scott would have done… those are the two that I hold both in high esteem and also with totally different approaches. I think Scott would have played a song. Greg might embrace the chaos a bit more. I think Charlie did the best she could caught off guard

Unless I missed it when scan listening - didn't Charlie play about 15 minutes of music after the on-air bit? So potentially there was some sort of off-air aspect too. I have never been sure if Arielle's feistiness is an act or is a side of her personality.

It’s only 2 days (she was meant to be off today anyway) but I guess that gives her time to get back, sober up and have a proper meeting

I mean I doubt needs a proper meeting a phone call or brief conversation with management or a message. Most drunk nights most people sober up in the next day.

I mean it does seem something blown out of proportion. Can’t imagine that much could be said that wouldn’t in a short conversation. They are making matters worse for themselves they making a tiny drama into a mini-scandal. Doubt if it is as complex that would need investigated.

In truth most of us work in jobs where we'd be in some sort of trouble for an equivalent incident. It's just rather more public. If it is just the drunk and obnoxious on-air part, not paying her this week is punishment enough.
