A few weeks ago, the "BBC Radio 1 ? #NowPlaying Bot" appeared to stopped working: https://twitter.com/BBCR1MusicBot

Just wondering if anyone has any contacts who may be able to help get it going again?

If you've not heard of it, it was a Twitter account that automatically tweeted every song that was playing on Radio 1. I often used it to look up the last time that a song was played etc.

Thanks, wasn't aware of that one, but it doesn't really work for my use case unfortunately, as it only goes back 7 days and isn't searchable. 

With the R1MusicBot, you could easily answer the question: "When was Gina G last played on Radio 1?": https://twitter.com/search?q=from%3A%40BBCR1MusicBot "gina g"&src=typed_query&f=top

Answer: 12th May this year at 5:25 am.

Radio 1 also have a Last.Fm page which has most of the songs played since 2006. Not as searchable but still has songs and times:

What a timing, I just came across my old last.fm password again last week, and started using it again, so this link is really useful. Thanks!

It last updated when the news of Queen Elizabeth's death broke so they might have used her passing as an excuse to stop updating permanently.

Amazing, thanks! Just a shame you can't really search on Mastodon yet.

 

Looks like Last.FM have launched a search feature, but only for Pro members. So the closest I can find is adjusting the artist name in the URL to jump to their plays on Radio 1, e.g.:

• https://www.last.fm/user/bbcradio1/library/music/Avicii
• https://www.last.fm/user/bbcradio1/library/music/Pitbull
• https://www.last.fm/user/bbcradio1/library/music/[ARTISTNAME]

And then manually picking the track from the list.

If you make an account and follow radio 1 on the site then you can see their plays of the tracks and artists as well.

The mastodon bot has paused.  Shame, it was the only site I could access on my work pc.
