1_tw 15
Big Weekend looks like it’s taking place in Coventry next year, coinciding with the city of culture & commonwealth games down the road in Birmingham.
R1Fan1 27
Confirmed to be Coventry by Greg
Jono 66
Presumably Dundee are going to be a bit cheesed off! But I did somewhat assume it wouldn't be going back there. Hopefully they find another way to take a broadcast there.

Dan18F1 32
And line-up being announced on Monday! Anyone want to have a guess at the headliners? I’m going to go for Calvin Harris for Friday night, Dave and Florence and the Machine!
Darren m 14
Larna del ray might be one as she is doing a big tour soon

For coverage of dance and future sounds stages it would be good to have Alyx Holcomb and Charlie Tee there doing some to raise their profiles
BBCAaron 34
Sigrid, Charli XCX, Mø, Aitch, Olivia Rodrigo, Jax Jones feel are possible. Wetleg, Camilla Cabello, Mimi Webb and Becky Hill seem possible on the line up think it will be potentially one of the stations most gender balanced. George Ezra maybe. Think will have some good first time players
radio1fan 29
Ed Sheeran performing on Saturday of Big Weekend. They are simulcasting the announcement on BBC Coventry and Warwickshire, I believe this is the first time they’ve simulcast on the relevant local station? Phil Upton, the DJ on CWR, faded out the song and they’ve went back to their normal show
Jono 66
Ed Sheeran is arguably one of the biggest acts of the last year, whether people like him or not, so it's good they've managed to get him on the bill. Looking forward to seeing what the specialist lineup is, especially given some criticism of the gender balance on the main stage.
GeekTalk51 13
I imagine they have some big ticket female headliners for Sunday (you’d hope). But yeah, good getting Ed Sheeran on the bill. Anyone gonna try to this year?
Darren m 14
So is Ed the headliner?

Dan18F1 32
I’d guess at Calvin Harris out of those names.
BBCAaron 34
So seems like Ed is the big Artist opener it would be good considering there hasn’t been a big weekend since 2019 to have a first time opener and maybe previous performer but never headlined the festival. I do think a band like Foals to headline over Calvin Harris headlining the Saturday and at least having that mix of having one or two female/nonbinary names. Wonder if the Radio 1 Academy thing will return?
radio1fan 29
Sam Fender is headlining the future sounds stage on Saturday, that’s a great booking
Dan18F1 32
Good line up for the future sounds stage too! Still quite male orientated though, I wonder if the Sunday will be more even.
Jono 66
Yes few more female voices with Mimi Webb and Sigrid. A nice mix.
Jono 66
Another Big Weekend announcement today. Can't work out if staggering it out works, think outsiders to the station are less likely to follow two days of announcements than regular listeners. I assume that's who they want on board. R1Fan1 27
Sunday headliner is Lorde
radio1fan 29
Lorde announced for Sunday of big weekend. Hopefully Sunday will have more female/non binary representation Two more big names to be announced for Sunday
