Oh I agree completely. Rickie and Melvin seem to be doing lots together without Charlie. Like they not long ago competed on some Reality TV program together. 
I do think perhaps once the world starts to move back to normal, they’ll quietly take Charlie off of evenings and keep her solely on dance anthems. They do sound better apart in my opinion. Charlie sounds more comfortable doing her dance anthems, whilst the lads seem happier on the night shift.

I would of thought if Charlie was going to be taken off she would of already been so they didn't need to have a remote connection.

I suppose do have a long career before Charlie joined them think it will be the case possibly when clubs and festivals open again there maybe more times when it’s just Rickie or Melvin and when may take the odd dance anthems. Think it’s a wonder when Rickie and Melvin are up for a better slot since been over from Kiss for a few years and are quite renowned names could possibly take over drive after Grimmy leaves or replace Matt and Mollie if they get a daytime slot. Think it will be thing could capital dance ever offere  her a more prime time slot but also want to know is if they prepping Sarah Storey for joining the R1 Dance probably if Charlie doesn’t go capital Dance she could have a more specialist dance show. Though I think it would be good if they chucked them to do the three of them do bank holiday breakfast and the odd breakfast cover

Think it could been a matter of more flexible contracts and timing or maybe better money offer maybe the nighttime slot would allow them to easily take up more tv or DJ work without clashing with Kiss FM schedules did find it an odd jump at the time know of course radio 1 is bigger but not to be anywhere in peak daytime was an odd shift and has the flagship show over there at kiss but Ben Cooper at Bauer is atleast making kiss sound bir more complitive with kiss nights and DJs like A track doing stuff

I can’t see Charlie going back to a commercial station. She’s only recently taken over Dance Anthems anyway.

I believe shortly after RMC left Kiss, the big boss there also departed. I believe the 2 are connected. They’d had a good run on Breakfast and probably expected some changes under new management.

Rickie & Melvin have always done more TV together/solo than Charlie anyway. I can’t really see them splitting them up on a permanent R1 basis anytime soon.

Yes can’t see them splitting but don’t have a clue what’s it is going to be like for the foceable think see dance anthems with Charlie running for atleast 3-4 years. Don’t see a major split of them happening for a while see Rickie and Melvin will be working together on radio and in other realms likely for decades to come where ever that work is be as see them having bit longer in rsdio 1 but maybe at most one or two years left in slot but think bout the move all what is offfered and what suits them. But think the evening time slot will last a short longer but think as one of weekend or daytime slots change they may have a more daytime slot

      Unless people can provide a source for this information then it should be treated as false.   Why would Jordan sign a contract with the BBC in the autumn when he agreed a deal with Global?  He could have left in August and not had to deal with the BBC.  Vick who doesn't really like Global why would she recommend him to go there and then warn him in her post to be careful?   It's been whispered from October that Roman was thinking of going.  Roman and Jordan have the same management team.  Why would they put Jordan in a place where he would have to battle with the BBC.  They could have agreed a deal with Global for Jordan in the summer.  They might have had to pay first couple months but they would do they to secure him.  If they had known about Roman wanting to leave they could have paid Roman off to get Jordan on air quicker.  Global would also not had legal around BBC contract to deal with and would not have had to pay the BBC to release Jordan.  None of what people say makes sense and if it did happen the way people say then BBC are not the stupid ones.  It really is not a good look to be talking with Global for 6 months, to then sign a contract with a the BBC, continue to talk to Global behind BBC's back after signing and then couple of months later want to leave and to throw a hissy fit as the BBC are not giving you what you want when you want it. That not a good light for Jordan or his management.

      Wow, surprised he signed a new contract in September but it says a lot about Jordan that he continued to a very high standard throughout last summer/autumn if this was all going on in the background.

      They knew Roman wanted to leave early last year but wasn't officially announced but he gave them time to sort replacement. Found and offered Jordan a deal in June or July and needed time to get Jordan out of Contract at bbc and roman to do notice  Jordan had dinner with Katie Vick and Arielle to ask advice and all said he should go.

      From what he's saying on the Pod he's been trying to get out of r1 for a while. Looks like he needed to wait for a show on global to be available. Jordan had bbq last summer with most of thr global execs and he's referenced the deal was in place then. Obviously the hold up was r1 being stubborn

      It's great to see those friendships still thriving. I think the days of Radio 1 DJs and Capital DJs being unable to co-exist is long over. You used to either be firmly BBC or commercial, and you don't get the sense that's the case anymore.

      Vick and Jordan together on Insta (with Ariel’s) in Ibiza. You do imagine Jordan’s ex colleagues have a very different attitude to him than management. Comments on Help! And very subtle comments on Capital Breakfast suggest Jordan was frustrated with Radio 1 / BBC management.

      His NYE shows were very good. Only thing I would say is he was shackled down slightly there. During his peak he played some great trance stuff in the late 90s and early 00s. So if he were to do a regular show that would have to feature more. Aside from I'd love to see him back.
