He sounds so much fuller of life than Grimmy - the man just needs to go IMO put Scott back on drive for a few years after all he is already back on it Friday now just give him the other 4 to make it consistent and then give Jordan or D&A 1-4

Jordan was brilliant last week on breakfast, deserves a decent slot ASAP. He’s not afraid to bring his features across like North’s knock offs.

I’m not a Grimmy fan so hopefully he will get drive in the next 6 months or so. Management must rate him as they have trusted him in every slot now.

He has actually covered every daytime show now hasn't he which is something older hands like Dev, Greg, Scott etc haven't done 

Grimmy covered for Fearne, Scott on drive and afternoons and Greg - (that was funny Grimmy covering for Scott who was covering for Moyles when Moyles was on holiday during his notice being replaced with Grimmy) 

Has Scott ever covered a show out of daytime times apart from special events?

I certainly think the new Pop Controller will want her stamp on things - which have been very stagnant under Ben Cooper until Aled has changed a few things lately 

Ben Cooper the man who made massive change in 2012/13

I'll be the lone Grimmy fan here and say I think he gets a hard time here. He has an incredible skill of making his shows sound natural but still entertaining and that can be very difficult to pull off for many presenters. I'm a bit lukewarm on Jordan North taking over drive. He's a good presenter but having Greg on breakfast and Jordan on drive all feels too... safe, and we know radio 1 don't like to play safe. Grimmy and Greg have opposite personalities to appeal to different people in Radio 1's demographic during their flagship weekday shows (hence why you usually hear people prefer one to the other), and Greg and Jordan seem to appeal to the same type of people.

I personally enjoyed Alice Levine covering on Thursday, but I don't think we'll ever see a scenario where Dev & Alice take over 4-7.

I like Grimmy sometimes - for me he will always be the guy who took breakfast off Moyles - not took but took over - neither made the decision it was Ben Cooper but things were never the same IMO Scott should have had breakfast 

Anyway I digress - YES loved Alice covering last week she was natural and worked well in the slot, the producer of Grimmys show is Jenny who used to be with Alice on weekends so they work well anyway 

I cannot see D&A taking the slot either but I feel sorry for Dev he is always short changed of a regular weekday show I could see Alice replacing Clara one day?

Scott was covering everyone 15/20 years ago, Greg was the Jordan North about 10 years ago before he replaced Edith in the afternoons with Dev after that. 10am was generally covered with a female - usually Sara but occasionally Fearne (when was Jo Whiley or Annie MAC)

      Let's hope so, as forcibly taking off one of the best shows on the station one day a week would rival Aled's employment of Danny Beard as his worst decision.

      This GK Barry thing is so weird. Surely they’d give her a slot in the summer instead of ripping up the schedule at the start of the year. Casual listeners will think the change is permanent as it’s lined up with the rest of the schedule changing.    Surely doing the two week stint that James is doing on Going Home would be better.

      Some notes about the schedules released from the 5th September. James is still down to do Weekend Breakfast, it might be his last weekend. Nat and Vicky are down to do the 4th-5th September but generic listings on the 6th Sep. Callum Leslie in for Lauren on Life Hacks. Looks like there will be an Indie show on both the 6th and 8th September as it moves to it new slot. GK Barry begins her run of shows on the 10th September, it's called The GK Barry Show on Radio 1.

      Agreed. I wasn't expecting the gap to be as long as this, and we've not even got an announcement yet. I know they needed to get breakfast sorted, but we knew who was taking over within 4 weeks of Gary stepping in.

      In fairness almost all the presenters this summer have done two week stints. It’s bizarre that the interim show itself is continuing this far into the year though.

      W/C 7th September. Rather unsurprisingly, a new drivetime show isn't being launched this week. Gary Davies is listed still. I wonder if he'll now do a stint on drive until any new show launches.

      Of course completely understand it's not the most important thing to work on, but that doesn't explain how some updates have been made and then removed, that's even more work than just doing the update and leaving it!
