Jack Saunders and Katie Thistleton are in for Jordan 27th-29th August, live from Reading Festival.

Arielle is in for Matt & Mollie on Friday 27th August.

James Cusack is in for Adele on 28th and 29th August.

DJ Target and Kenny Allstar are live from Reading 19.00-23.00 on Saturday 28th August.

There's another Reading show 16.00-19.00 on Sunday 29th August, replacing Life Hacks and First Look - presenter(s) TBC for that one.

Looks like they have put back Life Hacks for the 29th with Sam and Danni listed to do it. Also it's just Matt solo on the 28th and 29th.

Also, Vick has said she isn’t going to be on Life Hacks for 3 weeks. We know Katie is doing it solo next week so she probably is again in two weeks.

Jamie & Spencer off of Made In Chelsea? I spoke to soon about Radio 1 not relying on tv personalities lol (i know they host a Radio 1 produced podcast, so presumably how that came about). You can tell we're in the middle of summer and inbetween a major schedule changes.

Oh, Yasser will be telling me the song number one on 21st birthday. I think with Victoria Jane’s future Soul it’s something that could be repeated on Radio 1 Xtra or least promoted there R1X and 6M trailer. Think more cross network promotion would be good like in final links sometimes if finished Chillest show recommend Morning mix or Radio 2 unwind etc. Dean will be interesting to see what features him and his production team have come up with hopefully on drag day there’s a taster. It’s like I hope Clara has some big hottest records and guests to launch the new future sounds show. I mean I wonder if by next week trailers snd promo bits start popping up for the new line up

I am very interested to see how this pans out now Radio 1's "Supply Teacher" is no longer "supply"

Arielle I expect will become the new "supply" like Greg was on earlies, cover the other daytime slots maybe

RMC can self Cover unless all three are off same with Jordan and Vick so I'd imagine the rest of daytime will be split between Katie and Arielle

I’d be shocked if RMC & Vick and Jordan are off together for more than a few weeks a year. They’ll surely just cover themselves by dropping down to a duo/solo.

Matt & Mollie have covered for Scott as well as Breakfast this year, so maybe we’ll see that happen?

Can imagine Matt & Mollie maybe Scott’s with also primary Greg cover

Think secondary cover:

Dean McCullough

Katie Thistleton

Arielle Free

do find the duos and trios are going to be bit of an end of the sort of supply presenter that’s the Cheif deputy for most cover

We had Dev, Jordan, Cel Spellman, Arrielle, Adele and if really short Phil Taggart or Huw Stephens feel with the build of plentiful teams presenting shows and end of the solo shows this is rarity but it seems like that with having beta presenters it’s like seems like there won’t be times where presenters covering several shows in a week.

As for lifehacks, some of specialist music shows, earlies and Weekend Breakfast it’s the beta presenters that interms of cover presenters think within months over the next year could see newer presenters working well covering more prime slots. Like when built Arrielle and Jordan up.

Think atleast with the broad range of cover presenters that aren’t on a permanent position it’s atleast suggests that when ever the next changes happens that they will be ready for the shows they will present

Interesting James Cusack is covering Adele this weekend because she's presenting 5Live Breakfast instead

Also what is funny is on R5L you have Adele followed by Scott which has been the case all week on R1

    • Radio 1 generation meaning??  Today's 10-30 yr-olds? I doubt it. They'll still know Pete Tong though, because he is rhyming slang!
    • There was a time when everyone knew Zane Lowe or Annie Mac or Judge Jules or Dave Pearce or Annie Nightingale. Does the Radio 1 generation know the current bunch?
    • Looks like it's off to Preston!
    • Would be nice to give more presence to the specialist shows over bank holidays. Surely the best way to promote new music credentials over anthems? As much as I accept it's very popular.
    • Peak radio 1 ! I agree with Bluestraw there was huge presence by specialist presenters then , certainly something I think radio1 could do more of now. Remember the takeover where specialist DJs would swap into main shows for a week? Or do we recall In New DJs We Trust, the competition on Chris moyles show where the winner would get a DJ set at radio 1s Ibiza weekend, and that is how Danny Howard’s radio career starters
    • Yeah. He started on R1 in the late 90's when they used do the 'Sessions in the Nations' where they used to split for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. He then moved to daytimes, firstly on weekends in 2003 then they replaced Mark & Lard on the mid afternoon slot in 2004.  Then he moved to late evenings as a specialist DJ.
    • Thanks for sharing that - I don't think I've seen it before. Didn't realise that Colin Murray off of Countdown and R5L used to be on R1! Several other current R2/R5L/R6M names there too.
    • 29th April has updated to show Dan back as presenter but still Nels in for Alyx on Introducing Rock. 6th May schedule has updated to show that the Radio 1 Big Weekend Shows will now be the following: 6am-10am 10am-2pm 2pm-6pm 6pm-8pm Still no presenters listed.
    • Where do we think Radio 2 in the Park will be this year? Personally I'm thinking Swindon after Scott's clue of it having many roundabouts and since Big Weekend is at Luton I can't imagine they'd go to Milton Keynes.
    • Yeah, I feel like they need a big push on Jack to cement him in his new position. But it shouldn't just be Jack, you've got Sian and Alyx for instance, who are relatively new faces.
    • Now in it's third week, the new Capital Breakfast Show seems to be settling down well and there are more of the informal, random Jordan topics appearing.  Though it is clear he wants to be seen slightly differently. It really is a very decent listen.
    • Just watched that advert and it made me realise quite how many 'big' specialist presenters there were back then
    • I've been reminded of this Radio 1 cinema advert. I remember being so excited to see it. The In New Music We Trust era. Everything felt so cool, even if they had Westwood.
    • Just Vick and Katie on Wednesday (and presumably Thursday as well).
    • Unless people can provide a source for this information then it should be treated as false.   Why would Jordan sign a contract with the BBC in the autumn when he agreed a deal with Global?  He could have left in August and not had to deal with the BBC.  Vick who doesn't really like Global why would she recommend him to go there and then warn him in her post to be careful?   It's been whispered from October that Roman was thinking of going.  Roman and Jordan have the same management team.  Why would they put Jordan in a place where he would have to battle with the BBC.  They could have agreed a deal with Global for Jordan in the summer.  They might have had to pay first couple months but they would do they to secure him.  If they had known about Roman wanting to leave they could have paid Roman off to get Jordan on air quicker.  Global would also not had legal around BBC contract to deal with and would not have had to pay the BBC to release Jordan.  None of what people say makes sense and if it did happen the way people say then BBC are not the stupid ones.  It really is not a good look to be talking with Global for 6 months, to then sign a contract with a the BBC, continue to talk to Global behind BBC's back after signing and then couple of months later want to leave and to throw a hissy fit as the BBC are not giving you what you want when you want it. That not a good light for Jordan or his management.
