Interesting to see Sian covering for Jack. Maybe Jess isn’t available.

Sometimes it’s the case maybe it’s easier to get people who’ve already got a contract to cover shows on the station Jess probably would be more freelance so maybe bit difficult for bookings etc.

Adele really has been filling a lot.

Maybe with Jordan seeming to only cover select shows and that’s being more rare these days probably until a bigger show he may use more non contracted time for outer BBC private commercial work on televison etc. ThInk the station seems to like to use the weekend morning presenters as the primary cover for few daytime. Wouldn’t be suprised if maybe next year or end of it start doing bits of.cover on Radio 2 like their midnight show or for Angela Scanlon.

Scott will likely to be odd cover for Rylan or some other slots around bank holiday Scott I feel is defeintly not going to move for 18 months and with the refreshed imaging of podcast seems he’s very safe. Maybe if Wright Bruce or Cox change when ever they do retire or go else where then think he’s safe at Radio 1 until Then. Could be there until 50.

Feel Adele has another two years at the station but likely end up in positition like Dev heart or 2

They're broadcasting from the roof of broadcasting house looking at instagram. Good to have Scott & Chris on with Jordan, a straight through double shift from their 5live show, now on R1. A little odd that Ricky is broadcasting with another duo/trio of presenters and at different times to Melvin and Charlie, i'm sure there's some logic there, no doubt. It'll be nice to hear presenters on the air together who usually wouldn't be.

Probably broadcasting from roof because of the nice sunny vibe create an outdoor atmosphere and maybe just covid precaution of having multiple presenters in same area so can be ventilated. Good that’s have some evening specialist presenters on think every now and again maybe on a weekend just play randomly some live content from archives.

Think Dean and Rakeem maybe being warned up to join

And Jess Iszatt as well.

I don’t think Clara is on today, the schedule must have meant Charlie Hedges, unless Clara is on later.

You really wonder if Radio 1 is succession planning and gradually phasing in some of these people.

I mean if and when Jordan and Vick n Katie go to daytime and we see Grimmy and Scott and Chris leaving and maybe Adele at some stage there will be quite a few vacancies.

I wonder too how long Mollie King will want to do radio.  You could see her wanting to go back to music or theatre or whatever at some stage.

I think Adele will go before Scott and Chris. With all this new talent it’s hard to justify keeping her and Grimmy around. Mollie still sounds so good on the radio, I’d hope she’d stick around for a long time. Same with Matt, when he got paired up with Mollie his show really improved.

You're probably right about succession planning. Gradually introducing these 'new' voices to get the listeners used to them is exactly how both Jordan and Arielle came through before getting permanent shows. I can't see anyone pushed out the door for the next year or so, the September changes are quite major

It certainly seems like Dean will become a regular daytime cover, especially with his early breakfast stint done.. and he's since been on air several times in recent weeks. Rakeem being part of big weekend can probably be explained by him being this months Friday EB host. Whoever was covering that slot this month would've been on air over this weekend.

Mollie King may stay between TV/Radio don’t know how long at BBC could end up on Heart or something feel Matt Edmonson hasn’t got to many years left think next big shift will be the closure of one era of the station. Think also that it’s going to be interesting to see how Radio 1 strategies it’s money in where it’s going and decisions are made

He has the show for as long as he wants it according to bosses. That must mean he’s popular or he’d be moved out.

I feel I rather do find myself taking starkly polar opposite view to the hegemonic consensus of where the station should be and a rather more critical critique of the programming. Personally feel like sometimes as with keeping it by and large the same get into a complacent state or listener fatigue where some can become bored of the same style of breakfast think was met at the end of Moyles and Grimshaw’s era.

I think on a whole hosts of topics I have to meet the compromising position of agreeing to disagree but do feel that it’s without data to say how popular the current positions of the show and even if it is largely listened to who even likes the output found for me after months it sounded rather corny and cheesy but that’s my own perspective.

I mean the BBC has kept figures who were largely unpopular for long durations of time e.g Liz Kershaw tho now gone was unpopular with 6Ms audience and severed 18 years could say that for retaining or removing certain content,

I personally take the stance that BBC don’t always hit the mark of what their audience want or seem to be investing money in useful or resourceful means.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I can’t honestly say there’s a better alternative for Radio 1 breakfast possibly apart from Jordan or Scott (interim period) but then Jordan’s still new for radio 1 and won’t have much to go on after breakfast

Matt and Mollie double shifting on Friday 25th June. Doing breakfast and their usual slot. Jordan’s doing a Glastonbury special on the same day.

Arielle is also joining Grimmy for all of next week. Sam and Danni are in for her on Monday, she appears to be double shifting the rest.

For the record, I miss her Saturday show ?

Feel Jamz Supernova made for an excellent replacement and brings something new turnover to and where risk work and moving with it’s audience .
