Also should add that the first pairing of Early Breakfast hosts is happening on the 4th June with Danni Diston and Sam MacGregor for the month, the same pair that are hosting Life Hacks on Sunday.

Seems to be that radio 1 are scrapijng the concept of having a singular super cover presenter like a Jordan or Dev shchi would cover at times a couple different shows a week but having a pool with each one more or less assigned to a certain time slot in the schedule seems like a good way of ensurIng the listeners aren’t getting so much or the same presenters and diversity of voices on the station as notice indie cover etc are becoming more regular

Clara seems to,be having lots of time off maybe coz of contract

She obviously saved up her time off for when she could actually do stuff with it.

on that note, I would like to see Arielle covering for those slots. Adele is a great broadcast, but, at this point, she isn’t likely to move to daytime. Arielle obviously has a future and it would be nice for her to be given some more exposure.

The Big Weekend Schedule has also been put up - only Adele on as normal. The anthems will all be Festival Anthems. The Monday schedule is a bit more interesting. They appear to have Early Breakfast and Radio 1 Dance mixes airing at the same time. Then, there’s an hour of Greg James before two hours of Big Weekend. That’s followed by the live lounge from 31st May 2093 (that’s what the website says), followed by some anthems and more Big Weekend.

I think this will be the last time the 1030 show Will be covered as I can’t see rmc all being off at once I think it’s June 3rd it’s just 2 of them hosting

I think just before they start Jordan, Katie and Vick or Adele or Arielle may do one or two weeks in the switch period as show prep goes on

By sounds of it may update the schedule closer to the time to make it seem more cohesive

That was my thought aswell maybe contract reasons with her other station she’s on

I know she’s contracted also for BBC local station doing an introducing show unless it’s still in progress and possibly something that they going to announce in and around then

Interesting to see Sian covering for Jack. Maybe Jess isn’t available.

    • I think Jack Saunders if in for the long haul may mature and develop as a presenter with the opportunities to do big interviews and features. I think I really enjoyed him doing the late version of the indie show the presentation style of future artists got repetitive of presenting as if every show is the first time the shows on air with over explaining the purpose. But think this show could have a different approach
    • Not a fan of Jack Saunders, but ...  This is a marked improvement over Clara Amfo (almost anything would have been) - And it's also better than what JS was doing in his previous slot - He's definitely been listening back to Zane Lowe, and drawing lessons from that.
    • @lochnessa what an incredible feature, really do miss the games from that show
    • Life Hacks is on 20.00-22.00 on Monday 13th, Tuesday 14th & Wednesday 15th May - in place of Future Artists and Future Pop.
    • Brother or Lover? WhooooOOOOooooeoeehrheroooooooooo.
    • What's your morning routine when you're working?
    • I feel like we all know how they'll answer that!
    • Makes sense, I always assumed they all went for 1D members regardless.
    • Do you prefer doing Capital Breakfast to Radio 1 or the other way round?
    • Jesus christ, Olivia Rodrigo was around 3 years ago!?! I thought she was only born in 2019. Anyway. They are doing it to rival commercial networks, on the main 2 lists anyway with rotating them more. Which all in all is a pit of misery. I'm sick to bloody death of Stick Season, it's an utter bag of mediocre wank that makes me even prefer James Blunt circa 2005. Radio 1 still is more expansive however, loved stuff they play and make their own early days, like Jungle Back on 74 like last year.  They can't lose doing stuff that, or else they become bland like everyone else. They have done that for many years though. I heard a song on a March 2001 aircheck from Chris Moyles recently and rediscovered a song by Kings Of Convenience, called Toxic Girl. Totally lost over 25 years but totally love it like it's new. Radio 1 has always played the big time pop stuff since your nan was 3. But they always have and still do throw something on the playlists that isn't what everyone else has. I hope they continue to do that as it sets them apart.
    • I think they are looking too much into this and need to get a proper job where you have to get up at 5am.
    • Zayn's current song isn't on the R1 playlist so would be odd for him to do an interview I guess, not sure either would want it?
    • You have both presented together before your show on Capital. Have you spent time together as friends since, or is the reunion like getting to know one another all over again?   I’m a long time listener in my mid 30s and now outside the R1 target audience age… Chris is into barbecuing and Jordan is into air frying, have you both noticed a change in the other since the days of R1? And are you under any pressure to be on trend at Capital?
    • What do you both miss most about your time at R1?
    • How are you finding the early mornings, and having your afternoons free? Was it easy getting to grips with a different desk and play out system? Do you have any upcoming OBs and anything else exciting planned for the show that you can exclusively share with Unofficialmills? 😀
