Chris Moyles who misses him?

I really do. Find radio 1 so dull without him at times:cry:

I do too...... every week... it never has been the same. He was the only non-dumbed down DJ who spoke to listeners as though they were actually adults. Who wouldn't conform and get obsessed by 1D, etc., etc. Who did his own thing. Alas, doing your own thing is far from acceptable by R1 management these days.

You need to sound like a general playground addict to get on. And that includes Mills' show. Innuendo Bingo is for kiddie winkies. Most teens I know find the station stupid.

It affected my ability to listen to Scott (I find I can only listen on average one day a week - and that's not even the full Show), Grimmy is just dire...... from another point of view, I don't like Chris Evans either. I suppose I should thank R1 management for developing a love of Ken Bruce and the lovely, intelligent Jeremy Vine, but do I really want to? No.

And Simon Mayo - well, I don't like him either. So this leaves me jumping about, like a loon really, from local radio, to Absolute, to Clyde, to Radio 1 - I don't know WHAT the new songs are when I switch back to Radio 1... and it is just a mess.

Radio 1 is fine now viv, how many teenagers do you know? Also why do you constantly mention your hate for innuendo bingo only you don't like it, Scotts show is great at the moment!

Viv please sod off to radio 2 and stop complaining about radio 1 now, you're too old to be listening to the station, get over. It!

apparantely he's given up broadcasting for writing .He's said to be writing a comedy tv series.Whether it will actually get on to tv or not though is doubtful... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/5047919/chris-moyles-sitcom.html

A. Finally a BBC employee tells it like it is !! Mr Ken Bruce, at 1045 hours on 13th August 2013, stated that Radio 1's target audience is 3 year olds.

www.bbc.co.uk/radio2 to listen again !!!!

B. Grimmy will NEVER possess the spark of genius Moyles had.

C. I know Moyles has to try different things, but ultimately he is best suited to radio, needs to get into talks with management somewhere, and get a new Show sorted out. *

* And give us deprived listeners something decent to listen to.

  • 2 weeks later...
Radio 1 is not dull, it's great. I think Moyles leaving Radio has done him no good, he is now just gone- which is sad. But was it right that Scott didn't want to do breakfast?

If Scott had breen offered breakfast last year I'm sure he would have accepted.Sadly as he was about to turn 40 it was almost certainly not offered to him. It's the new era of Coopers Run...

    • As positives go, at least Danny said what the last song played was and upcoming song played was. Plus I guess in that link are perhaps ideas for content (asking listeners to come up with bands from things around them, things that have happened to them this week). That's where's the positives end. It comes across as no thought has gone into what Danny will say next. It gives me proper flashbacks to some Jamie Laing links (especially that one show where he was unexpectedly solo). It's ironic that for all the duos and trios on the station - the one show and DJ that is positively crying out for another DJ to help show them the ropes is left all solo. At least with Jamie Laing they learnt their lesson and he's not been left solo since.
    • How he was just faded out at the end of the link reminded me of the Oscars music fading you out
    • RPReplay_Final1713612277.mp4   You’re welcome
    • At a time when Radio 1 has surely lost listeners to Capital at Breaktast you’d be trying to protect the station so people switch back.  Certainly yesterday I didn’t switch back to Radio 1 at all.
    • Was abysmal…Surely Danny can’t be a contender for anything permanent when the new schedules are locked in I.e Matt and Mollies slot
    • Alexandra Burke creating the phrase 'Elephant In The Room' whooooooooo
    • Zane Versus.... Whooooooooo. Do You Do Fridays? WhooOOOooo.
    • The Capital Breakfast show is right up my street so far - such a fun listen. You've both been great on Radio 1 and are sounding excellent again on Capital A few quickfire questions: You've both been part of some great pairings on radio and on podcast - what goes into making a duo or trio work and sound great on air? Also, Chris - were there ever any discussions about you moving over to Radio 2 with Scott or had the Global offer already come first? Also how do you both go about managing that split between your radio 'you' and the private 'you'? You share a lot on air but also there's some understandably some stuff you keep private (famously Jordan doesn't 'talk about those things'). And how do you make sure if you're having a miserable day or are a bit low that it doesn't come across too much on air?
    • What a nightmare link at 11.15am this morning. Spent 30 seconds waffling about the name of The Last Dinner Party as if he’d never heard it before, then started mentioning Capital and the license fee, and how it’s been used to pay for him to be there, and was then cut off by the start of the next song.
    • Have been reading this all week. She's such a brave woman. Just got to the chapter where she explains why she missed Scott's leaving event at Radio 1. She talks about leaving Radio 1 because her mum's health got worse, and wanting to quietly leave radio at 44 just how she first arrived on the airwaves at 18. Worth a read!
    • Frozen Indigo Angel... Whoooooooo?!!
    • Did it take a lot of tempting to go to Capital Jordan? Did you feel like you’d achieved everything you could at Radio 1 (other than breakfast)? Chris, how did your Capital move come about? Did Radio 1 want you to stay after Scott moved on?

    • I never expected to be enjoying a commercial radio Breakfast Show, but this is a good listen and less adverts than I might have expected.
    • It's got more of a Fri/ Sat feeling to it, for me. But there's nothing inherently wrong with the show.
