Scott looks set to leave Radio 1 after his current 3 year contract is up!!!

OK, that's still about 2 and a half years away and there's no official confirmation of this but still...

Erm.. There's no official confirmation but he apparently said something like "I think I'll be leaving at the end of my contract because I think I'm too old to be on Radio 1.."

Well... He told the last edition of 'NOW' that he was hoping the bbc would make a transition to radio 2, or somewhere, nice and smooth, the way they have done for other presenters.

I think he'll be wasted on Radio 2 though.. They'll turn him into a boring, bland presenter..

Gotta pick out the section where he says 'you're not supposed to like it if you're 45'... hmm. Why not, if you want your new music. plus, again, a lot of the target range ain't happy. but, as he IS, by bbc standards, getting older, it is a good way of being seen to be approving of r2. i ain't fooled for a second.

As said before a DJ's age is irrelevant as even the older DJ's pull in young audiences. Plus the article says he MAY leave.

DJ age means nothing. It was determined that moyles average listeners age was over the demographic. However Westwood age 55 has the youngest audience age. Who's to say Scott doesn't have a young audience and in 3 years time will still have a young audience and be safe

In that slot, he's unlikely to be attracting a large amount of young listeners as they'll be in school/college/uni when he's on

BTW, am I the only one thinking Scott is leaving the lunchtime slot after Christmas?? He seems sure he's going next (well, it's either him or Fearne...) and the new series of Tap End is running til Christmas.

if scott does have at some point to go i hope it is to radio 2, that way i can delete radio 1 from my pre-sets in the car.

I think Scott knows that his listeners know the writing's on the wall, so that's why he's comfortable joking about being next out the door.

In addition to getting shoved around on the schedule, he's no longer booking any substantial interviews of any kind on his show. I also noticed that Scott played no part in the "Team Grimmy" adverts on Radio 1, despite every other daytime DJ on the station appearing in the spots. With Moyles gone, Ben Cooper's sights will be set squarely on Scott now. He's probably pulling the largest salary at the station right now as well.
