They're certainly not holding back with IB are they! And this following the bleep-age on yesterday's. Ofcom might not be too happy. But personally I think they should go back to being a bit more risqué with features - more enjoyable.

Really liking the show so far, still a bit odd hearing it in this time slot but I'm liking the structure, it all feels nice and smooth, especially without the the 15 min Newsbeat. Welcome return for OWO. Just wish they'd shut up about 1D for more than 5 minutes!!

I agree - it sounds like they want to have as much fun over the next 3 years as possible. Very reminiscent of the Scott Mills Gold days!

I sort of yet the impression he had previously been told to tone it down, after the last ofcom incident, and he did that but now the bosses have moved him his sort of saying "tough i will do my show how i want"

Sorry if for any spelling mistakes, I'm dyspraxic.

It's just a different audience - they're mostly people at work. Apart from the Easter week.

Have enjoyed the show today, got the podcast from yesterday to listen to while at the stables instead of listening to Greg. Scott is far more important!

IB was good, actually watched it too since ima off work this week. TOTDS sitting hiding in the corner haha

Didn't even do that actually. Most remiss.

Listened today for the first time at the new time and loved it. It sounds different but I like it. Loving the return of Innuendo Bingo as well, I've missed it. I will miss Scott in the afternoons, but I'll get used to it. And Greg was good as well today, did well I thought.

Probably one of these from yesterday:

@Harkinson: "@scott_mills @gregjames @bbcr1 Can't we have Scott back? This is appalling.."

@Harkinson: "@celebritain Told you @gregjames was rubbish. He tries too hard to be funny and fails.."

Don't really know if I've been blocked or not but I can't "follow" him anymore. :(

Why would you Follow someone you constantly criticise? REALLY don't understand that mentality "Oh I can't stand this guy, shouldn't be on Twitter, ain't got a good word to say about him *click follow* "?

Viv, it probably won't let you follow anyone because you spam follows with that FollowBus/FollowTrain/FollowDaLeader stuff and the ratio of people you're following in such a short space of time to people following you is probably awful due to that. That's the kind of thing those spammers do.

EDIT: oh look, 2000 you're following, 863 following you, that's like 2.3:1.

Every account can follow 2,000 users total. Once you’ve followed 2,000 users, there are limits to the number of additional users you can follow. This number is different for each account and is based on your ratio of followers to following; this ratio is not published. Follow limits cannot be lifted by Twitter and everyone is subject to follow limits, even high profile and API accounts.

In addition to this account-based limit, every Twitter account is technically unable to follow more than 1,000 users per day.

    • There was a time when everyone knew Zane Lowe or Annie Mac or Judge Jules or Dave Pearce or Annie Nightingale. Does the Radio 1 generation know the current bunch?
    • Looks like it's off to Preston!
    • Would be nice to give more presence to the specialist shows over bank holidays. Surely the best way to promote new music credentials over anthems? As much as I accept it's very popular.
    • Peak radio 1 ! I agree with Bluestraw there was huge presence by specialist presenters then , certainly something I think radio1 could do more of now. Remember the takeover where specialist DJs would swap into main shows for a week? Or do we recall In New DJs We Trust, the competition on Chris moyles show where the winner would get a DJ set at radio 1s Ibiza weekend, and that is how Danny Howard’s radio career starters
    • Yeah. He started on R1 in the late 90's when they used do the 'Sessions in the Nations' where they used to split for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. He then moved to daytimes, firstly on weekends in 2003 then they replaced Mark & Lard on the mid afternoon slot in 2004.  Then he moved to late evenings as a specialist DJ.
    • Thanks for sharing that - I don't think I've seen it before. Didn't realise that Colin Murray off of Countdown and R5L used to be on R1! Several other current R2/R5L/R6M names there too.
    • 29th April has updated to show Dan back as presenter but still Nels in for Alyx on Introducing Rock.
    • Where do we think Radio 2 in the Park will be this year? Personally I'm thinking Swindon after Scott's clue of it having many roundabouts and since Big Weekend is at Luton I can't imagine they'd go to Milton Keynes.
    • Yeah, I feel like they need a big push on Jack to cement him in his new position. But it shouldn't just be Jack, you've got Sian and Alyx for instance, who are relatively new faces.
    • Now in it's third week, the new Capital Breakfast Show seems to be settling down well and there are more of the informal, random Jordan topics appearing.  Though it is clear he wants to be seen slightly differently. It really is a very decent listen.
    • Just watched that advert and it made me realise quite how many 'big' specialist presenters there were back then
    • I've been reminded of this Radio 1 cinema advert. I remember being so excited to see it. The In New Music We Trust era. Everything felt so cool, even if they had Westwood.
    • Just Vick and Katie on Wednesday (and presumably Thursday as well).
    • Unless people can provide a source for this information then it should be treated as false.   Why would Jordan sign a contract with the BBC in the autumn when he agreed a deal with Global?  He could have left in August and not had to deal with the BBC.  Vick who doesn't really like Global why would she recommend him to go there and then warn him in her post to be careful?   It's been whispered from October that Roman was thinking of going.  Roman and Jordan have the same management team.  Why would they put Jordan in a place where he would have to battle with the BBC.  They could have agreed a deal with Global for Jordan in the summer.  They might have had to pay first couple months but they would do they to secure him.  If they had known about Roman wanting to leave they could have paid Roman off to get Jordan on air quicker.  Global would also not had legal around BBC contract to deal with and would not have had to pay the BBC to release Jordan.  None of what people say makes sense and if it did happen the way people say then BBC are not the stupid ones.  It really is not a good look to be talking with Global for 6 months, to then sign a contract with a the BBC, continue to talk to Global behind BBC's back after signing and then couple of months later want to leave and to throw a hissy fit as the BBC are not giving you what you want when you want it. That not a good light for Jordan or his management.
    • Wow, surprised he signed a new contract in September but it says a lot about Jordan that he continued to a very high standard throughout last summer/autumn if this was all going on in the background.
