One thing I'm concerned about is what happens during public holidays when no one is there? Does the live data just revert back to just showing the exception of the latest tracklistings? They're about to raise the standard and there needs to be continuity even on the quiet days.

I look, for example, at the weekend. It's a lot quieter because the staff aren't there but they should still have some sort of skeleton system. I assume when the website goes live that Vernon, Sara, Huw and so on will have the same coverage that the presenters get during the week with updates in the stream? I notice Newsbeat doesn't and nor does the specialist shows in the early morning. I'd like to see a system in place to display scheduled messages for visitors to the website at this time.

Can something be easily done so that can be achieved? Can they set some text up that appears even if the staff aren't there?

I assume that you will need staff to put things up there. What they could do is build a litte piece of software for that sole purpose - a little Ruby on Rails application or something, where you have a window in which a producer can write a short message or something, and it will then appear in the live feed on the website. Easy to code, might not be that easy to integrate...

Haha...okay, I see what you mean. Just scrolled back to the Sunday morning shows on the live feed (1Xtra takeover or whatever that is called nowadays). There are just blank squares in the live feed. That clearly needs some work. I guess that will be a problem with all pre-recorded shows as well (actually, who needs them, anyway? ;))

It looks okay, nothing special though. I'm not sure if I like the new layout with all the pictures on the page, it's a bit confusing. I mean, people might know who the faces on the pics are, but if they don't, no one really has the time to go over the pictures with the cursor. However, I like the appearance of the Chart Show page. It looks more appealing with the pictures of the CD covers.

Yeah, I really think the 5-minute picture webcam is a little outdated and was/is probably little used.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/webcam/webcam1/ here's the webcam page but it's no longer linked from the website.

You now also have to register to message the studio, which will probably put many people off. It's a shame they don't advertise the email addresses anymore, or the text number on the main page.

If they don't change the addresses and the number, people will still know it. The biiiiiig radio fans have the contact information on their mobile phone anyway.
