This week sees Mills doing the Eurovision semi-final stuff - BBC 3 Tuesday and Thursday.... always good for something to laugh at is Eurovision.

I can hardly believe 'Blue' are entering. I don't like the song, and Lee's vocals are as monstrous as they ever were. I noted on the chart show yesterday that his voicemail is answered with "LEE" in that high-pitched, I really cannot sing, but have managed to be in a Band, voice.

'Blue' have some really *splutter* serious competition, as Jedward (the X-factor rejects) are representing Ireland. With 'competition' like this, they may be very scared indeed.

Only ONE BBC radio station has actually playlisted the song.... at least this saves us all from being tortured to death.

Mills is also up for a Sony Award this week. The Awards are tonight, so look out for all the latest in hot Sony gossip coming soon to a radio near you!! Moyles was saying this morning that Scott will not get an award, as, even though his Show is good, it is NOT as good as his!!

Also look out for a Big Weekend prize of actual breakfast in bed with Scott Mills - apparently wearing clothes is optional!! Okaaayyyy.

Wow you certainly sold the show there. I shall be watching the Sony's closely as I hope that Scott wins, he certainly deserves it.

Good show today, heard most if it due to finishing at 4 this week :) I knew all the songs to the Big Weekend quiz too but as I can't go there is no point in entering.

There is always some weird stuff on Eurovision. Britain's entry is never that great though if I'm honest. It's been a bit better before but this year I don't think we stand a chance.

We never stand a chance really, always put a rubbish song out there. Remember Gemini?

Poor Scott not winning the Sony award, I think he deserved it but congrats to Zane for winning his award again :)

The Eurovision stuff does my box in... seriously, what sort of person would watch this level of drivel, and actually enjoy it.

The only time I ever enjoyed it was during the 80s when Bucks Fizz were starting out, and ripping their clothes off on stage!!

These days Cheryl off of the Band advertises DIETS on TV. How the mighty have fallen.

Can't be any worse than X-Craptor and Cash-Cowell's other ripoffs of what used to be good Saturday Night entertainment back in the 80s...

It isn't, but it's had it's time..... nobody with any kind of brain cells honestly believes in it. It's the campest thing since tents were invented, and the fact that 'Blue' have felt the need to stick themselves in it is just total desperation of the worst kind.

Jedward, on the other hand, do not surprise me.

Weirdly after sitting through last year's borefest with Norton, I actually liked the winning song. UK's song last year was dire too, and had the most ironic title ever "That sounds Good to me" - yeah, well it didn't to anyone else mate! (I'm guessing he was deaf) :hahaha: Some of the other songs were OK-ish too, when Norton wasn't busy talking all over them, the whole deal was far more entertaining when they had Wogan (usually quite drunk) presenting it and they need to pick someone that isn't Norton, Mills or Cox to reach that again. Wogan presenting turned it into Comedy.

Believe me, mills posting continually about Euro on twitter like some kind of out-of-control spam bot has been bad enough. And that's even before I have seen the TV stuff.

Exactly, but then Mills has always bent over to BBC wishes on various things, at times he might as well be a robot. Much as I sort of tolerated most of last year's show (with the aid of alcohol and MSN), I doubt I'll be watching this year, hopefully I'll be working that night and able to avoid it.

Mills bending over??? Did I miss something?

Just Viv's dirty mind... which I strangely approve of in this case (honestly didn't see my post being taken in THAT direction)...

    • Scott opened Thursday by immediately clocking the pace of the inbox, saying it was “one of those mornings where you can tell people have woken up ready to talk.” Ellie Brennan and Tina Daheley were both in studio, with Scott checking in on them and joking that “we haven’t even warmed up yet and you’re all already in full voice.” The early links were light, with Scott narrating what was coming up and reminding listeners they were heading into “a proper Thursday show.” There were quick resets, music breathing space and familiar back-announcing, with Scott repeatedly acknowledging how fast messages were landing and half-laughing that “this is already a lot before seven.” Ellie noted that voice notes were stacking up unusually early, while Tina commented that people seemed keen to respond to each other as much as the programme. Motherhood chat, but not a phone-in The main theme emerged around motherhood and social media expectations, introduced by Scott reading a listener message about feeling like she was “constantly failing compared to what I see online.” Scott paused on it, saying “this comes up a lot, doesn’t it,” but was careful to keep the show moving rather than letting it settle into a single-issue phone-in. Ellie talked about how curated feeds distort reality, while Tina pointed out that “nobody posts the day where everything went wrong.” Scott reframed the discussion several times, reminding listeners that “you’re hearing highlights, not real life,” before deliberately breaking the run with music and a reset, saying they’d “come back to this — but not all at once.” Voice notes, relief and shared laughs As voice notes came in, the tone varied. Some were reflective, others lighter, with Scott reacting in the moment rather than letting each one sit heavily. When one mum admitted she didn’t enjoy every moment, Scott replied simply, “you’re allowed to feel like that,” before immediately moving on to the next message to stop it lingering. Ellie noted quietly that a lot of messages ended with apologies — “sorry if this sounds awful” — which Scott picked up on, saying, “you all keep apologising — you don’t need to.” He then undercut the intensity by joking that “this has turned into group therapy before 7am,” before laughing and playing a record. Listeners responded to each other as much as the show, which Scott acknowledged on air, saying it felt like “people talking to people rather than just talking to us,” while still steering the programme forward. Pause for Thought and breathing space Pause for Thought slotted neatly into the running order, continuing the theme without deepening it. The speaker focused on compassion, comparison and letting go of unrealistic expectations. Scott thanked them afterwards, saying it “fits with what people have been saying this morning,” and deliberately left a short pause before moving on. Ellie observed that the slot felt like “a natural breather” in the show, which Scott agreed with, before resetting the mood with music and lighter links. The handover Scott handed over to Vernon Kay by briefly outlining what the morning had been about. Vernon picked up on the listener response, saying it sounded like “one of those shows where people really got involved.” Scott agreed, replying that “they really did today,” and mentioned the volume of messages still waiting.
