I still can't understand why the flash display looks so rough on my computer. It could be the pixels of my monitor but the last month or two you have to hover over it for it to be clear.

Hopefully they'll be improving stuff like the LiveCam and general webcam/video streaming, for me that was where the attention was badly needed. I think that need was demonstrated during the Big Weekend in Bangor (which they've FINALLY stopped going on about :P )

It looks a little bit busy to me but I'm sure I'll get used to it. I don't go on the website that often, usually to look at videos rather than news or anything else.

It's not just the homepage:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/dance/

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/rockindie/

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/hiphoprnb/

Very big focus on tracklistings. Oh, and they've dropped Daytime as a form of navigation. Can't think why.

Homepage reminds me of Apple with the different options in Videos / Chart / Best Bits etc. The choice of fonts and icons are also bringing in the BBC's new visual language... (see play icons over videos and audio icons) - also, use of Helvetica.

However, the /dance/ pages seem to use a different visual style - using the R1 font. Lack of borders on those is also nice - it sort of looks like there's 2 styles slightly at conflict. Could just be trying two out, they both incorporate elements of the Global Visual Language. Personally, I prefer the genre pages.

This is me being anal though, I like the changes. And I'm sure the web team know more about GVL and the rollout compared to me, so we'll see more changes at some point.

I predict we'll see a carousel like http://www.bbc.co.uk/glastonbury/2010/ on the homepage at some time.

What are you seeing that I'm not Sophie? Screengrab?

Ahh, it's mostly fine now. :)

Sometimes it goes a bit strange at the top though.

It's as if the old pages conflict with the new ones.

The new DJs & Shows page is a bit weird. Tom Decon, Annie and Nick and Aled in the same bit with the likes of Fabio and Grooverider. These shows don't have much in common apart from beoing broadcast at night. Unlike the daytime shows, which all have a similair format.
