scotland 1-2 italy. enough said, buckfast swilling rats.

on a lighter note, holland vs brazil should be worth watching. either that, or it'll be crap like portugal v brazil or like most hyped up matches in this world cup.

on the grid.

i'd just love to ask those sections of scots, who tell us we shouldn't be proud to be who we are, call us all the names under the sun, possibly hope we die etc. why they don't come down here and do something about it, if they really hate england that much. we'd have more time and respect if they didn't seclude themselves in their shacks and make empty threats, and moan about us.

that was sooner, and more serious. there wouldn't of even been a scotland if churchill and all the soldiers fighting hadn't of won. regardless of some scots who possibly backed hiter simply because they were fighting us.

look my point is that there was even scottish support for the terrorist attacks in london 5 years ago. could you imagine if the english gloated at dunblaine or the lockerbie bombings!? of course, decent english people don't sink that low.

i'm sure i've mentioned this before, but i recall browsing a few forums and i can't repeat most of the anti english horror i read there. and i'm not sure if the said forum is even still around.

but one will always stick in my mind. his post was something along the lines of "i'm glad the english cunts died, hope some women and children got killed as well". his location, scotland. his avatar was a manchester united logo. his supposed pride & joy is an english based football club, and that's what he came out with. think of all the things in his life that he enjoys, which is based in england, the bbc for one.

i'd have given anything for him to be on that train instead of someone else who didn't deserve to be blown to bits.

I wouldn't personally jump around at anyone dying except with the exception of Bin Laden and his cronies. Can't think why anyone would be happy at someone elses death even if they were foreign/different religion etc...

But back on topic Holland are through!

But back on topic Holland are through!

aah no! It's not fair. First I supported Switzerland and England - both of them lost. Then I decided to cheer for Ghana - out too. Finally I gave my support to Uruguay and now they lost too! What's going on there???

And of course, decent Scottish people don't sink as low as what you are saying either. So get off your high horse and open your eyes to realise that both sides are as bad as each other.

high horse? don't make me laugh. i don't think i'm bigger than anyone else when i'm saying this. i'm making a point that's been on my mind for years, and i wouldn't mind understanding what the hell it's all about. so far my conclusion is that it's mindless hatred, although harmless to us.

Don't rule it out. Remember they signed Henrik Larsson

maybe so, but i still think larsson was a cut above forlan. i've noticed people seem to have it set in their minds that just because players have a good world cup, they can cut it in the premiership. kleberson for man united, juan sebastian veron after the 1998 world cup. forlan at 31 is too old to come back now.

besides, i think united have an experienced old head in owen. they need to offload berbatov and bring in a mid 20's striker who is class enough to partner rooney upfront. and maybe surpass him if rooney's world cup performances are anything to go by.

And you have the right to make your point, but it amuses me that you can just shut your eyes to the fact that the hatred is mutual in alot of cases. There is as much low-life scum in Scotland as there is in England, so don't think it's one sided.

It certain is a mutual rivalry between Scotland and England and many other cases... however I know enough Germans to know that England-Germany 'rivalry' is pretty much almost one-way. Also a lot of these rivalries stay more 'friendly' somehow or they keep the worst of it on the pitch/in the stadium.

Moyles and Dave back on the red button tonight!

Rio Ferdinand clearly enjoyed the commentary, even more so then Lawro according to his tweets. :D

Nice to see a new champion being crowned this tournament as opposed to the usual Brazil pre match favourite hype.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

    • Just Vick and Katie on Wednesday (and presumably Thursday as well).
    • Unless people can provide a source for this information then it should be treated as false.   Why would Jordan sign a contract with the BBC in the autumn when he agreed a deal with Global?  He could have left in August and not had to deal with the BBC.  Vick who doesn't really like Global why would she recommend him to go there and then warn him in her post to be careful?   It's been whispered from October that Roman was thinking of going.  Roman and Jordan have the same management team.  Why would they put Jordan in a place where he would have to battle with the BBC.  They could have agreed a deal with Global for Jordan in the summer.  They might have had to pay first couple months but they would do they to secure him.  If they had known about Roman wanting to leave they could have paid Roman off to get Jordan on air quicker.  Global would also not had legal around BBC contract to deal with and would not have had to pay the BBC to release Jordan.  None of what people say makes sense and if it did happen the way people say then BBC are not the stupid ones.  It really is not a good look to be talking with Global for 6 months, to then sign a contract with a the BBC, continue to talk to Global behind BBC's back after signing and then couple of months later want to leave and to throw a hissy fit as the BBC are not giving you what you want when you want it. That not a good light for Jordan or his management.
    • Wow, surprised he signed a new contract in September but it says a lot about Jordan that he continued to a very high standard throughout last summer/autumn if this was all going on in the background.
    • They knew Roman wanted to leave early last year but wasn't officially announced but he gave them time to sort replacement. Found and offered Jordan a deal in June or July and needed time to get Jordan out of Contract at bbc and roman to do notice  Jordan had dinner with Katie Vick and Arielle to ask advice and all said he should go.
    • And they told Radio 4’s Feedback that it was an ‘experiment’ to ‘look at the best way to serve young listeners’ but reaffirmed that 280 hours commitment.
    • I doubt he wanted to go to Global if a slot before he found out kemp was leaving.
    • We're hoping to get some answers in the coming weeks
    • From what he's saying on the Pod he's been trying to get out of r1 for a while. Looks like he needed to wait for a show on global to be available. Jordan had bbq last summer with most of thr global execs and he's referenced the deal was in place then. Obviously the hold up was r1 being stubborn
    • All seems to be back to normal this morning.
    • Indeed and Jordan was already friends with Sian Welby, Will Manning and Jimmy Hill.
    • It's great to see those friendships still thriving. I think the days of Radio 1 DJs and Capital DJs being unable to co-exist is long over. You used to either be firmly BBC or commercial, and you don't get the sense that's the case anymore.
    • Maia Beth will be presenting the Radio 1 Happy shows from the 27th April replacing Katie.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001ydkr
    • Vick and Jordan together on Insta (with Ariel’s) in Ibiza. You do imagine Jordan’s ex colleagues have a very different attitude to him than management. Comments on Help! And very subtle comments on Capital Breakfast suggest Jordan was frustrated with Radio 1 / BBC management.
    • I can name quite a few people on this forum who would be better presenters than Danny.
    • His NYE shows were very good. Only thing I would say is he was shackled down slightly there. During his peak he played some great trance stuff in the late 90s and early 00s. So if he were to do a regular show that would have to feature more. Aside from I'd love to see him back.
